Green Jays are somewhat skittish and prefer to stay deep within the trees. On this early morning, they at least perched and preened in an area in the trees with a fairly open view. The sun was casting light into the opening, which showcased their beautiful coloring.
These brilliantly colored jays are birds of the tropics whose range barely stretches into southern Texas.
