A long long time ago in a galaxy far away....we had movies on vinyl records. Yes, a stylus was used to read the analog data from a vinyl platter. VHS killed it before it took off. SelectaVision!!
### 📀 RCA SelectaVision VideoDisc (CED)
* **The Medium:** The SelectaVision system, which was an early home video format from the 1980s that competed with VHS and LaserDisc. The discs are also known as **Capacitance Electronic Discs (CED)**.
* **The Disc:** The disc itself is a vinyl platter, similar to an audio record but with high-density grooves that carry both video and audio signals. It is read by a stylus, not a laser (like a LaserDisc).
* **The Caddy:** The black disc is housed in a distinctive **white plastic caddy**. This caddy was essential because the discs were sensitive to dust and fingerprints. The entire caddy was inserted into the player, and the disc would be pulled out and loaded automatically without the user ever touching the vinyl surface.
### 🎬 Movie Title and Brand
* The main image (IMG20251126055644.jpg) clearly displays the title **"THE SPECIAL EDITION CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE THIRD KIND"** on the front of the caddy.
* It also features the corporate logos for **Columbia Pictures** and **RCA SelectaVision VideoDiscs**, confirming the format and the studio release.
My song “I Feel You” ended up in 4th place in the oldschool music competition at TRSAC 2025, which is okay, I suppose.
I’m bursting with happiness and pride, though, because my 12 year old daughter entered into the TRSAC 2025 Freestyle Graphics competition — and won! 🏆 🤩

@norberteder This proved to be a real challenge for me. I could not find any working photographic equipment for proper double exposures. So I did a little cheating to get around my problem for this challenge. A dark room, a very long shutter speed and turning the flashlight on twice.
A partially transparent man stands in front of a door, thinking about how to solve a challenge. He is also seen standing at his desk looking at his computer. The colors are muted and dreamlike, with shades of white, green and yellow dominating.
@gsymon Ok, that is proper #oldskool 😀 Shot this one with astrophotography settings using a Pixel phone set to 4 minutes with 2 flashlights inside my living room
