Thrilled to announce my new underground β80s dance night Breathless π―ββοΈ feat. nonstop old-school cuts of Italo disco | synth-pop | new wave | electro | New Beat | Hi-NRG π presented by Strict Tempo
When new wave (re)discovered black music, the immediate result was Blondie's (now disco classic) Heart of Glass. A driving rocky-disco rhythm relentlessly backs Debbie Harry's semi-whimsical vocals, and perhaps clearly exemplifies the difference(s) between British punk & US new wave at the end of 1970s. Its mash-up of punk & dance sensibilities wold be pretty influential.

Another fleamarket haul. Did a brief trip to Nummela. You got to love the serendipity of fleamarket trips and the random collage of stuff they bring. This time quite literally I found Collage, renowned Estonian ethno jazz outfit, their debut, plus a Nietzsche reader, dolphin-themed new age flute & synth jams by Chris Mitchell and a supercute Grace Jones cassette. Nepalese restaurant Bihani was superb.
