“THIS IS NOT A PROTEST STORY. THIS IS A CIVIC DEFENSE MANUAL”
by Closer To The Edge And Rook T. Winchester on Substack
“From that moment on post the murders in [#Minneapolis of Renee #Good & Alex #Pretti], Minnesota stopped acting like this was about persuasion and started acting like it was about protection.
What followed wasn’t chaos. It was organization under pressure. And that’s what other cities need to understand, because this wasn’t a protest cycle. It was a community building a defensive system in real time.

🦀 I'm excited to announce that I am starting a training firm,
@decoderloop, focused on providing Rust Reverse Engineering training! https://decoderloop.com/
The tools, techniques, and resources that reverse engineers have were built for the era of C. Meanwhile, malware authors and software developers alike are rapidly switching to modern programming languages such as Rust. Decoder Loop is here to fill the knowledge gap and level the playing field, for reverse engineers facing modern binaries.
I'll also be at
@ringzer0 COUNTERMEASURE on November 7 in Ottawa, Canada, giving a Rust RE focused workshop! Come say hi if you're there, and let's chat Rust RE!

The Galaxy Tool Development Workshop kicked off a new series of events to strengthen our tool ecosystem!
This inaugural session, held for the Galaxy EU team, focused on best practices, collaboration, and reproducible development.
This is a black and white photo of a young man on a Bosun's chair high aloft amongst the rigging of a square rigged tall ship. Long Beach, California (2014).
Below and to the right of centre is a young man, a teen, viewed in profile and facing to the left, sitting in a Bosun's chair looking downwards and looking quite relaxed considering his height above the deck. The Bosun's chair is a short plank of wood with two holes drilled at each end then with rope threaded through and upwards above the occupant allowing the seated sailor to be hoisted up to maintain the masts, yards and rigging. About a metre beyond our young sailor is one of the masts itself about a metre in diameter. In among the hundreds of rope lines stretching upwards are two sets of ratlines, one either side of the mast, allowing the sailors to climb upwards to the yards and set the sails.
The ship is the 'Lady Washington' a brigantine laid down in 1987 and used in teaching the history of sailing vessels of a bygone era.
