The U.S. Supreme Court appears poised to uphold laws in West Virginia and Idaho that ban transgender athletes from taking part in girls’ and women’s school and college sports. Most judges seem reluctant to find that the laws violate either the 14th Amendment to the Constitution or Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. @ has more.

Hope is not an investment strategy.
I want to see accountability as much as the next Democrat but I also understand how much power is vested in the US Senate and how Republicans are protecting Clarence Thomas and themselves from within that body.

Nothing will change until Democrats take an overwhelming majority and then pass law to end lifelong appointments, placing term limits on all future federal appointments.
Finally, 3 more judges must be added to after the 2028 election.

January 2025, President Joe Biden's farewell address warned of a dangerous rise of an ultra-wealthy "oligarchy" and a "tech-industrial complex," threatening American democracy, rights, and equal opportunity, urging citizens to fight unchecked power and ensure the wealthy play by the same rules, similar to historical battles against robber barons. Why did a federal court nix the Texas Republicans' mid-decade gerrymander? Democracy Docket reports that it's due to a Department of Justice letter that specifically frames its demands for redistricting around race, which is unconstitutional. “Far from seeking to ‘rectify racial gerrymandering,’ the DOJ Letter urges Texas to inject racial considerations into what Texas insists was a race-blind process,” Trump-appointed Judge Jeffrey V. Brown wrote in his opinion. Texas has said it will appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
