so i've never quite got WinApps to work as-is (mainly because I couldn't figure out how to teach it to switch between two kb layouts properly), but I've absolutely switched to its suggested dockur/windows container. Super painless Windows VM install, then you just xfreerdp into it and work. Sure it's a bit laggy over RDP but that's not a problem for Word or whatever, and MUCH more convenient than rebooting
Question for you #SDL#SDL3 wizards and wizettes: I'm setting SDL_HINT_MOUSE_TOUCH_EVENTS, SDL_HINT_TOUCH_MOUSE_EVENTS, SDL_HINT_PEN_MOUSE_EVENTS, and SDL_HINT_PEN_TOUCH_EVENTS all to zero, but my program occasionally receives SDL mouse button and mouse moves events for some but not all touch events in addition to the expected correct behavior of actually receiving touch events. Is this, too, a linux, or did I screw up something somewhere?

RPCS3 is pretty great as far as emulating PS3 is concerned. You can check compatibility of specific games here but overall most of the library is playable to completion.
I can only vouch for Dark Souls, Drakengard 3 and Nier at the moment but all of those worked really well even on Steam Deck.
I can't say much about Xbox emulation but the two emulators I'm aware of are: xemu (has native build), and Cxbx-Reloaded (requires Wine). Don't know how well either of those works from experience, however xemu does have a compatibility page which looks promising.
I can't tell you which version is the best for you (and your hardware). The first thing I would lookup if the particular version for the emulator is working well (have in mind, the reports are not always up to date): Dolphin for GameCube, PCSX2 for Playstation 2 and Xemu for Xbox.
