Hello from an old year 1997 Machine!
This snac server is now running on a Micronics Spitfire with 2x Pentium II @ 233MHz and 512MB SD-RAM. Operating System is NetBSD 10.1, installed on a 120GB SSD (SATA->IDE converter)

OpenBSD wasn't able to run snac stable on this machine, it crashed after a few requests with "illegal instruction".

Funfact: you can use exactly the same hardware in 86Box, as I have here in real 🤯

Mainboard: Micronics Spitfire
CPU: Pentium II 233 MHz
Graphics card: S3 Trio64
Network card: RTL8139

86Box screen / graphics settings window, S3 Trio 64 is selected as graphics card
86box network settings window, rtl8139 is selected

The latest build of 86Box emulator is capable of reproducing the actual sound of a floppy disk drive. While this is a function still in beta, it adds a completely new dimension of depth to the retro experience. I like it!

Here's a quick video sample... booting MS-DOS 6.22 and installing STUNTS from 3.5inch floppy disks.

Oh snap! A stable version of 86Box 5.1 has just been released! There's also an updated ROM set. Very, very awesome!

Tonight, I'm having an absolute blast playing around with Microsoft's Flight Simulator 4.0 and its "Experimental Jet Aircraft" from the "Aircraft & Scenery Designer" expansion.

Seeing this old game, which is so dear to my heart, running super smooth in full SVGA resolution and with all of this extra in-game content makes my inner 12 year old jump up and down from excitement! This is what retro gaming is all about!

I just added several SimCity Architecture packs to the Internet Archive. Original Amiga and PC versions. Loads of fun from 1990/91!
