@evacide Just horrendous and it doesn’t seem like there’s any appetite for a real investigation into coverup and corruption. Really surprised the New Yorker is using the term ‘child pornography’ when the far more appropriate term ‘child sexual abuse material’ has been in common useage for so long. This isn’t pornography

This is pretty bullshit, there are very valid reasons most people don’t cycle to work. Chief among them being the lack of actually safe, properly separated bike lanes and car drivers who actively, and just through carelessness, target bike riders. Change the former and watch the numbers go up 🤷‍♀️

It is possible to kill children legally, if for example one is being attacked by an enemy who hides behind them. But the sight of a legally killed child is no less disturbing than the sight of a murdered one. And Israel has discovered that shutting out the press carries its own risks. An infanticide that no one can see is also going to attract suspicion. Unsympathetic observers will think Israel is conducting its war in the manner of other countries whose counterinsurgent forces have preferred to work out of view of independent media. Russia did this in the Second Chechen War; Sri Lanka, in its civil war. Both countries’ militaries had much to hide.
