My religion explicitly says that fetuses aren't people until their first breath. Does that mean abortions aren't murder as long as the mother is Christian?

I don't know what's worse, that Microsoft may have given them the go-ahead or that they did it knowing Microsoft would be too scared to say something.

Simultaneously, I'm hoping Superman, FF, and Thunderbolts will reignite consumer confidence. I like superhero movies and I want more of them.

It feels like there's been "bad movie" burnout in the MCU starting with Black Widow and then Thor 4 doing the most damage to the brand.

Similarly in the DCEU how BvS and Suicide Squad did well, but broke consumer trust in the brand.

Best gunplay of the 343 games.

Best multiplayer of the 343 games, despite having no split screen.

Warzone Firefight was a blast.

Lootboxes where (99.9% of) everything could be achieved at a reasonable pace was much better than the current system.

Evil Cortana was the best 343 antagonist.

The Guardians themselves were a great replacement for the Halo rings.

LOTS to complain about. But I actually think it was the closest to getting things right.

Yes, and we have abused God's gift.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

That's a normal complaint. I thought Reach was peak esthetic for Halo because it was big recognizable variations in armor.

After that they made intricate armor variants that largely go unnoticed because they just look like a mess.

Close. It does carry over from last season and teams jump whomever they beat. But since the title holder missed the playoffs last season, the SB champ never got to take the title.

Here is the site that gave me the inspiration. Although they haven't updated it since week 4.

https://thetitlebelt.com/

Omegamanthethird OP ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

Usually the title holder will make the playoffs and it'll end up with the Super Bowl winner. But yeah, it doesn't have to.

I believe it started with the first Super Bowl winner. So the first champion. But if every team started out with a trophy (or land if you're following the imperialism maps) it will usually narrow to one owner in a season or two as good teams make the playoffs.

I never got the complaints about Manchin. He had morals and was left of everyone in the GOP ,and he was in a seat that pretty much could go any further to the left.

I'm glad that the ceasefire happened. I don't know how involved Trump was and I don't know how much of Biden's negotiated ceasefire plan was used.

But even if you only look at the one accomplishment, María Corina Machado objectively did more for her cause and risked far more.

But also, it'd be pretty fucked up to celebrate a guy that continues to bomb civilian boats and torture random immigrants.

Bleeding heart just means that they're too caring. As in, the type to give handouts and hug trees. But I haven't heard that in forever. I think it's been switched out for socialists.

Not sure if I agree on the other two. They are definitely coopted for political gain. But I don't know that it changes the base term. When they say "woke mob", I don't hear an implication that it's disingenuous.

Virtue signaling definitely applies though.

I do find it ironic that liberals (people who just want to live their lives and not impede on others, not the politicians) give the least amount of fucks. They don't give a fuck if gays marry, but they also don't give a fuck if they're not allowed to (assuming it doesn't impact them).

And that's why they blame teachers for guilting kids when teaching history. Because they told their kids that it's core to their identity.

But also, if they admit that their great, great, grandpa fought to take away their state right to choose whether rich assholes could own other people (also giving them an unfair advantage over poorer farmers), they'd have to admit that their ancestry was being really fucking stupid tools.

Omegamanthethird ,

I'm worried that if someone doesn't like my thoughts on certain individuals, they could go to my employer and get me fired or targeted.

ABC is a Democrat funding organization and they suspended him for (accurately) saying that the right was trying to find someone to blame before having all the facts and then showing an unedited clip of Trump.

If that's the bar, we're all fucked. So yeah, I took it VERY FUCKING PERSONALLY that I could be fired for accurately describing current events like people being killed, assaulted, or tortured because it's considered inflammatory. In addition to that, network TV is about to get a lot more right-wing and a lot less honest for the sake of centrism. So I want people with an audience to be able to tell the truth about invasions in our own damn country.

The response has been the demand free speech and, for me, it has been a rare bright spot recently.

The right-leaning news station is about to embrace right-wing tabloid journalism.

Are there any news stations that are actually unbiased and honest, even if it means they will be labeled as having liberal-bias? I have to listen to actually liberal/left biased content to get full context without sugar coating things for the sake of appearing unbiased.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I'm just going to say I think the first and third examples are just not your taste. They're not badly executed. Stranger Things had a great first season, but they really couldn't nail it after that. It's kinda the Alien issue, switching more actiony after the first installment.

Omegamanthethird ,

The good:
Gunplay was the best of new 343's Halo games. They made the Prometheans fun to fight. Warzone was the only good thing to come out of 343's multiplayers. The lootboxes which could be earned was better than infinite's paid season passes and expensive armor cores. They also had probably the only good iconic anything from the 343 games in the Guardians. On top of that, they had the best villain of the 343 games (evil Cortana).

The bad:
They brought back Cortana after a amazing send off. The Didact never appears again despite having a teaser at the end of 4. Half the story is you playing a random Spartan chasing John for being "suspicious". The team dynamic isn't great and is leaned into. Warden Eternal SUCKS. And then he sucks again. And again. NO SPLIT SCREEN, AT ALL! No real Firefight, but none of 343's games have had real Firefight.

Anyways, infinite sucks and I wish it didn't exist. I'd rather have had a Halo 6 close out the Promethean story and do more with the Guardians.

Omegamanthethird , (edited )
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

OG Chief is explicitly the most reserved and tactical of all the Spartans. Part of the charm is that he's robotic, ironically less human-like than his AI companion. He always keeps his helmet on in the slightest danger, because he's mission first.

Not only that, the rest of the Spartans can get very chatty and personal. They could have resold the story with some changes. Have a team find Halo instead of just him. Show Reach. Cover UNSC Circumference. Have Chief be Chief.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

He can take it off, actually. He does so at the very end of Halo Combat Evolved. And he gets a new set of armor in Halo 2. I think at the end of 5 you even see his eyes.

But he doesn't take it off for the entirety of the events on Halo. None of the downtime. Because the mission is still active until his escape. It makes uncomfortable to be out of his armor.

Compare that with most of Noble 6, in some cases to their detriment.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I'm not aware of any models like that. At the end of CE, Chief takes it off himself. It might be because in some of the later games they show them using a machine to remove the armor. But I think that's more for convenience since the armor is heavy AF.

There are a bunch of Marvel games that are exactly like this.

Somewhat related. I tried to watch Guava Island, which was apparently only made available for Amazon for a limited time, then it just disappeared.

I think it should be legal to download or stream any of that stuff that's no longer available.

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

I think there's a difference between unavailable and limited availability.

There are some old games that may never come back. In many cases, there's no agreed owner. Imagine if something became public domain after a short period of no use (5 years, 10 years maybe).

Omegamanthethird ,
@Omegamanthethird@lemmy.world avatar

It absolutely isn't a legal defense. You're right.

I'm saying it should be legal. Starting now, since digital is a standard. Nintendo needs to put it out or let people share it. They can have 10 years (or the highest of 5 years from now/10 years from when it was last available). Something like that.

The TV movie standard of everything being available should be the video game standard.
