I wanted to post again earlier, but the end of the year turned out even crazier than I expected </3 so here I am now in 2026! I hope things were less hectic for you who's currently reading this!

Usually, I make a big end of the year post where I go over everything I made in the year, fic and exchange-wise... but to be honest, I don't feel like doing it this year, lol. Writing was so hard for most of 2025, I think looking back will just make me sad... and I've already come to the conclusion that I should take a soft exchange break, so I don't need to look over my exchange stuff for that.

I will say, I'm still really proud of all the webdev stuff I did this year, and I'm hoping 2026 will be a web-intensive year for me again! I want to start new projects... I want to actually finish my personal site... I want to keep updating Lysandre Labs...

I'd also like to maybe make a post reflecting on 2025 more generally and figuring out what I'd like to get out of 2026. I think that'd be more encouraging than looking back on everything I didn't manage to write or draw o7 Speaking of, I haven't drawn anything yet in 2026... Looking forward to finding out what my first art of the year will be... (Probably Corbeau and Lysandre lbr...)

Hello there!!!! If anybody is left to see my posts... (joking)

I'm a bit sad I broke my streak of posting every month of the year on here, but ah well. (Wait actually hold up I just checked and I've already missed March... Well.) I think taking a break from blogging (even casual blogging) was for the best. I actually took several weeks off all social media in mid-October and that made me feel SO MUCH better. Officially it was to avoid Z-A spoilers (I received the game later than expected) but then I was like man, it's nice to not have to worry about being active on Tumblr for a while or whatever. It made me feel less bad about my lack of creative endeavors, too.

Well, the latter is not a problem for me right now because I'm running on pure, undistilled Z-A brainrot right now. I've already written and posted three fics (which have been crossposted on

teamflare btw just saying just saying) I'm back to drawing every single day, and I have a 6-pages comic all sketched. I feel a little bit crazy but in a good way. The main downside is that I'm having a real hard time focusing on other things </3 but that's alright. I'm managing. I think.

I want to talk about Z-A SO BAD there's actually a full review I've been meaning to post for like. A month and a half at this point but I still haven't finished it. I'd like to do that before my birthday though. Instead I'm endlessly replying to Tumblr asks people have been sending me, which is also cool. Lots of FRESH!! AND NEW!!! blorbo material to discuss. Honestly I'm mentioning the review here in the hope that talking about it can get my brain to finally let me write more of it so I can post it here, which was my plan all along. Prayer circle etc.

What's new other than that... Hmm... The German classes I mentioned in my last post have been going great! I feel like I'm actually learning stuff, although it's still a bit slow-going. I can tell when people are talking about numbers, which feels huge as somebody who prior to this could barely count to 3 in German lol. We've barely just dipped our toes into stuff like dative and accusative at this point but I'm secretly hoping my years of Latin in middle school will come in clutch...

perfworldweek round and I'm very much looking forward to what people will make >:) I need to work on more of the graphics for it, but right now it's crazy holiday seasons so I'm focusing on other stuff. (Such as the gifts I still need to finish. Aough.) Being motivated to draw again has been a huge help ngl.

I really really really want to push myself to leave comments for other people because I tend to procrastinate on it and then I'm like it's too late and I don't have anything to say aaaaaa. consent_issues_exchange with only one fandom and one ship, which I'd never done before...)

Anyway... I'm convinced there was more I meant to write but I can't remember now lol. You should tell me what you think of Z-A in the comments or link me to posts you've written about it etc. I'm really curious!!! It's been basically a month since I last posted... I haven't even replied to the comments on my last post. Sorry! I promise I will, eventually. I don't know why it's been so hard for me lately. I dropped everything I was doing more or less. Well, I can guess, maybe, which is that I'm at the very end of my hormonal cycle and overdue for my next testosterone shot, but I don't know if that's really it, lol... I think I'm genuinely a little stressed waiting for Z-A and it's making me want to go into hermit mode x_o

I feel a little silly doing a life update when I haven't been keeping up with anybody else, but in case this interests anyone, here's a rundown of what's been going on in my life lately:

I started taking German classes! I've had 4 so far. I'm going with Noah, through a free program provided by James's job, which is very nice. I was very apprehensive about it, but it's going really well. The teacher is very nice and I'm having way more fun than I expected. I also managed to understand that the receptionist was asking for my name at the dentist yesterday so, you know, small victories, lol.

The Z-A countdown is still going well! Only four people have dropped out/been no shows in total, and I'm still waiting on one drawing, so overall pretty good. I do think organizing it is taking more of my energy than I thought too though. At least it's preparing me for future endeavors...

I'm really into Death Stranding lately. Been playing for a week and a half, I want to say? I have no idea how far or close to the ending I am, but I'm in Episode 5 and constantly getting distracted by all the cargo I could be delivering. It's nice to be playing a videogame! I don't know if I'll be able to get to the end before Z-A comes out, though...

That's it, embarrassingly, apart from real life stuff that's not super interesting. I've made no progress in webdev, I'm behind on most of my events except

ficinabox and even that is at a standstill right now, and who even knows if I'll manage to get a letter out for

yuletide. I wanted to do

ficortreat this year but it's already October 9th and it's probably better for me to give it a pass. I feel like this makes it seem like I'm doing bad but my mood has not been too terrible? Outside of feeling awful about not getting the stuff I'd like to get done done. I'm actually procrastinating on getting stuff done by writing this, if you can believe it...

I miss blogging, but it requires a kind of social energy out of me I just don't really have right now. I'm still thinking about webdev a lot but can't really bring myself to even open VSCodium. Honestly, the thing I dread the most right now is having to write an end of the year post and having to admit I just didn't do much this year, lol... Ah well.

Hello world! I'm sorry for basically disappearing. To be 100% honest, I'm not doing well, although to be even more honest (110%?) I haven't been doing well all year, so there is that. I'm trying to keep up appearances, but there's bound to be moments where it becomes harder...

In any case, I do want to share good news! I know I said I was going to make another goal post for the month, but I don't actually think it's a good idea right now. The thought of having a list to follow is bringing me down more than anything else, lol. So I'll pass, and just try to do my best to keep working on things at my own pace.

Anyway, the news:

The ZA countdown is going well! Haven't had anybody dropping out so far (fingers crossed I don't jinx myself by saying this, lmao) and seeing everybody's different takes and art styles really does bring a smile to my face.

My PRFR fanlisting is up and running and has been officially added to The Fanlistings Network! Not much else to say about that. Feel free to look at it if you want.

Since I can't seem to be able to do anything lately, I've been catching up on stuff I wanted to check out:
- I did a Nan Quest reread! Also discovered that apparently the old Ruby from Ruby Quest shimeji was considered "lost media"? So I reuploaded the one I still had on my computer and shared it on Tumblr.
- I caught up on The Summer Hikaru Died, which I'd been meaning to read for a couple of years.
- I also got into Mouthwashing fashionably late :P I bought a T-shirt!
We're about to finally watch the Pluto anime, something I've been looking forward since it was first announced, and I'm very excited for James and Noah to see it.

Okay, that last one was a bit overly dramatic, I have been getting some writing done. I'm steadily working on my pieces for pokepodproject and I wrote two Mouthwashing double drabbles in French (here and here, not that I think this interests anyone heh.) So there is that, I suppose. I think I've also figured out what's been blocking me re: my chaptered WIP, but who knows if that'll actually lead to me writing anything, lmao.

I have not yet managed to figure out a rec list for seasonsofdrabbles and I do kind of feel bad about it (I suspect it may be part of why I was avoiding posting here, even.) My own works revealed though, if you want to check them out:

There was a festival going on at the park this week-end, so we ended up going today. We didn't stay long enough to see any actual shows or anything, but we did all hang out for three hours in the grass and have lunch there, which was nice. Also, I'm pretty sure my allergic reaction was indeed caused by going to the park and getting too close to ragweed. I'm going to see how I feel next week and if it keeps up I might have to go to the doctor after all...

I get some writing done finally and then realize I haven't made a blog post yet. Oop.

Tomorrow will be the last day of Blaugust... when I'll post my overview and stuff. Today, well, I guess you'll have to make do with an extremely short post... with a poll!! Basically, I've been musing on the matter of making a Pokémon-centric icon community again, but the one thing I keep agonizing ("agonizing") about is what to name it, lol. My thought process:

I don't want the name to be too long (personal preference) so something like pokemonicons is a no-go. (I'm willing to relent on this if people disagree, though...)

I like pokeicons but I'm worried it might not be explicitly enough about Pokémon. What if people think it's about, IDK, "poking" people by making them icons or something... (Nobody will think that. Probably.)

In that case, pkmnicons seems like the best compromise, but I can't help but be unsure about it anyway...

Anyway... I feel a little bad that I didn't end up making a proper blog post today (I had an idea but I don't have the energy to actually make it a reality in the end) but at the same time, I've been posting on this account daily, so it seems a bit silly LOL. Isn't that wild? This week felt so slow since I was so under the weather, and yet it still feels like the month began just yesterday... Funny how that works... I don't think I have the energy for a long post today, or even a medium-length post. I managed a long one yesterday, and I'm happy with that! Because of my allergies stuff, I haven't really been up to much that's super interesting to talk about, alas.

I do have some good news though!

I'm basically recovered! Might tentatively go out this week-end because there's an event happening in the park nearby. We'll see if I have a bad reaction again, in which case I'll probably have to go to the doctor next week so I can go see an allergist or something... because I can't just stay inside forever. I'd just started going out again!!!

I finished my ficinabox letter! And also set up my offers at long last. I'll probably give one last look right before sign-ups close, but I'm pretty happy with what I've got right now. I'll figure out my swaps as soon as I have my assignment...

It's Small Web September at smallweb soon!!! Once again, because I was ill I largely stopped doing webdev stuff, so I'm super excited to get to work on thing again with an event there to motivate me. >:) I even made banners for it!

Now that we're done with Aggretsuko, we've been watching Mononoke, a.k.a. one of those """weird""" anime I've had on my list for over a decade and never got around to. It's really cool. I love the art style and the overall vibe. The use of textures really makes me crave a Gankutsuou rewatch, though...

We got to see a HUGE double rainbow from our balcony earlier today! :D

I don't know if the Aggretsuko """review""" will end up happening, but I'm keeping the idea in my backpocket for whenever I feel up to it. I think it'd be fun to write about my feelings on it, especially because I ended up coming out of it with a different impression than I did back when we watched it at the beginning of the year? But I just can't get into the mindset for it right now. Health update: I'm okay? Recovering. Feeling better day by day. Very blessed to have two partners taking care of me as much and as best as they can. Kind of scared of going back out and getting assblasted by allergies again tho...

While playing Minecraft I started getting back into listening to ARG (or ARG-adjacent) videos on YouTube, and it's gotten me to Crave the unusual online format that some of these stories take. So because it's really on my mind right now, I want to talk about it, and things related to it (even tangentially!)

I've mostly been playing Minecraft because I feel like shit LOL. Managed to get myself a happy ghast I can ride!

Finally started queuing all the art I've gotten so far for the ZA countdown. I've received the first three days already, hopefully I won't have to resort to asking for pinch hits (or doing it myself lol.) None of the deadlines have been hit yet so it's not a huge deal.

I think I'll probably feel well enough to finish the fanlisting by the end of the week. I don't know if I'll be able to update Lysandre Labs though :/ I guess it's not a huge deal, I just feel bad about it.

Sorry my last few posts have been so subpar... There's just something about the month of August that's deadly to me I guess. Never forget the year I almost died (only slightly dramatic, there was really a point when I thought I legit was going to die) from food poisoning in August. Whenever I see people joke about food poisoning nowadays I'm like man. I was just like you once. I've learned my lesson since then. The hard way. LMAO. Anyways... Hope everyone reading this is doing better than I am! o7

End note: Originally I was going to talk about in-universe fanfic more in this post on top of all the unfiction stuff, but then I wrote way too much about the unfiction stuff LOL. Maybe another time...
