It’s a fair point. To be clear, then, I have zero tolerance for transphobia and fully reject JKR’s anti-trans rhetoric & funding. I published this RPG in 2018, and share the sense of betrayal many Harry Potter fans have felt at Rowling’s rhetoric since.
I’ve removed recorded playthroughs of this game at the request of trans friends who participated in them. However, I’ve left the game itself up. It’s my hope that this RPG gives people some small way to reclaim a fantasy world that was important to a lot of us growing up, and create their own, more inclusive stories in it.
I personally support multiple trans advocacy organizations with monthly donations (though not with proceeds from this game, as there are none). And I would encourage anyone, in lieu of paying for HWRPG, to also donate, or to purchase a TTRPG from a trans designer. Hope that makes it clear where I stand.
