It’s a bit redundant since the O stands for “Optimization”, but it means Search Engine Optimization. Basically structure your stuff so it shows up in more searches (use popular terms in your profile, make posts with key phrases, fill out all the fields).

Well, nobody’s looking at my photos and thinking “That’s guy looks tall”, unless they say add “for an Asian man… sorta,” so really this is just saving us all some time.

What does “real” even mean in this context? Is the alternative that they’re counterfeits?

I haven’t been optimizing all too much tbh. The speedrunners and metagamers will tell you that that wide gunlance (specifically G. Lawful Bors) is the best endgame GL, but I like Long shelling and have been using the Gravios gunlance. The blast damage it gives me lets me boom when I boom, and the long shelling lets you hit the monster without being up in the ankles like other weapons need to be. Aside from that, you want to get Load Shells and Artillery to max levels, and then fill in the rest of your decorations with offensive guard, and then guard or guard up. The rest is just filling in damage buffs in your armor, with the minimum of defensive buffs you need to not die.

Poke-shell-guard is kind of the oldschool, solid, kinda boring way way to play from previous games, but the most fun/risky way is finding out how far into the shellhop->sweep->wyvernstake full burst->second wyvernstake full burst->quick wyvernfire->second quick wyvernfire combo you can get before the monster slaps you. It’s a lot easier to aim in Wilds if you just stay in focus mode, too.

IG is fun! It was one of the 3 or so other weapons I tried in MH4U before I became a series-long gunlancer!

It’s like 20x too high as it stands going by p/e ratios compared to the rest of the auto industry. Like 5-6x too big compared to tech companies. It’s wild.

I’m missing a lot, too, but I chalked that up to the game being a little more lenient, thus giving me more room to freestyle instead of turtling.

I’ve played Gunlance since 4U, which has kept things relatively stable for me (aside from the occasional addition/removal of things like Blast Dash). I also picked up SnS this time around so I can take on group hunts with the Power of Friendship and Mushrooms.

Lots of Monster Hunter: Wilds. I’m at the point where I’m basically farming for dicerolls: Decorations, artian weapon materials.

This seems to be targeting “watch these ads to get credits” model, which is pretty common in free-to-play games.

One of the funnier/less annoying ads-in-game I’ve seen would be where they fill the spaces where ads normally are, though. Like, if a game had an IRL stadium or street, they would replace the billboard contents with their own ad content instead of putting in ersatz advertising.

It’s not really that important to the joke, since I’m pretty sure you can also replace keywords like ‘if’ with the preprocessor. It’s just that preprocessor macros are typically (style, not syntax) ALL_CAPS_WITH_UNDERSCORES.

It’s just another clue that that block isn’t actually an if-block, since C is case sensitive and ‘IF’ wouldn’t actually work.

They used a macro to make ‘IF’ (which is distinctly not ‘if’) map to ‘while’. So it’s really a while(1) loop, which will repeat forever, or until the program is terminated, whichever comes first.

Keep using it. You don’t need the 2 unless you have a desperate need for a Switch 2 exclusive (or maybe want to run some of the games that the OG Switch couldn’t really handle so great).

With my PC-based gaming offerings, I probably won’t even be tempted until they announce a Switch 2 OLED or whatever.

The first I bought for myself was a PNY XLR8 GeForce GTS 250 in 2010. It tided me over for 4 years, until my power supply gave a loud POP, and I replaced pretty much the whole build just in case the other parts were damaged (or caused the damage).

Cross the wrong people and you end up not dead, but irrecoverable. Cement shoes, buried alive kind of stuff. Cross a different set of wrong people and you become a labrat. To avoid either scenario, you’ll be in a constant state of “undocumented” or false-documented which will keep you in a pretty consistent state of poverty.
