ImpactHacks is a beginner-friendly online hackathon designed to empower students of all experience levels to turn ideas into real-world impact. Our mission is to make coding and project-building accessible to everyone, whether you’re a first-time hacker or an experienced builder.
Participants will form teams, brainstorm innovative solutions, and build projects that focus on social good, open-ended creativity, and practical problem-solving. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where everyone can learn, collaborate, and showcase their work.

Requirements
Build a project that solves a real-world problem or creates positive social impact. Your project can be anything — a web app, mobile app, AI tool, game, productivity tool, or any idea that makes a difference.
Each team must submit the following on Devpost:
- Project Title
- Give your project a clear, memorable name.
- Project Description
- Provide a detailed description of your project including:
- Problem Statement: What challenge does your project solve?
- Solution Overview: How does your project address this problem?
- Key Features: What are the main capabilities of your project?
- Technologies Used: Platforms, frameworks, APIs, or tools powering your project.
- Target Users: Who will benefit from your project?
- A well-written description helps judges understand your project and highlights your team’s effort.
- Provide a detailed description of your project including:
- Project Files
- Upload screenshots, videos, or other files that showcase your project.
- Include at least one file demonstrating functionality or design.
- Tip for beginners: Even a simple prototype, wireframe, or mockup counts.
- Project Link / Repository (Optional but Recommended)
- Provide a GitHub, GitLab, or similar repository link if available.
- If your project is a web or mobile app, include a live demo link if possible.
- Team Details
- List all team members and their roles.
- Solo submissions are allowed.
- Social Impact Statement (Optional but Recommended)
- Explain how your project creates positive impact in your community or addresses a real-world problem.

Judging Criteria

Impact (30%)
Does the project solve a real-world problem? Does it create meaningful social or community impact? How useful or important is the solution to its target users? -
Creativity & Originality (25%)
Is the idea unique or innovative? Does it show out-of-the-box thinking? Does the project go beyond existing solutions? -
Technical Effort (25%)
How well is the project implemented? Does it demonstrate coding, engineering, or design skill? Complexity and functionality will be considered, but beginner projects will be judged fairly. -
Presentation & Communication (20%)
Clarity and completeness of the submission (description, files, videos). How well the project is explained to the judges. Visual appeal and organization of materials.
