That’s a lot to carry. And it can be really hard to give yourself the kind of grace and gentleness you give others.
Maybe a walk would help slow things down?

Fingers crossed it’s something easily treatable and Geoffrey will be back to his happy self soon. He’s a very handsome boy with a lovely name.

I said goodbye to my beautiful cat today. My house feels empty tonight.
E: thank you all.

My pantry is narrow and deep, who knows what’s lurking at the back. I should sort through it more often but it’s not a job I enjoy.

Mine went in the recycling bin this morning. But 1, he’s not someone I idolised at all. I liked his kids books, struggled with his adult stuff, and hadn’t actually read anything of his in years, so I’m less attached than some.
And 2, as a librarian I’m long past the idea of books as sacred objects- mass market paperbacks anyway. I donate my unwanted books to the op shop but these will be unsellable at the moment, the op shop will just chuck them. And I’m quite used to putting large piles of withdrawn library books into the bin. But I know it shocks some people.

Do it. Ask A Manager has some good advice on how.

Good plan. I’ve had MRIs, CTs, a lumbar puncture and all sorts of fun. And regular eye tests are worthwhile- apparently weird eye pressure can manifest in interesting ways.
They’ve never found anything useful on all my tests but it’s always good to know it’s ‘just’ migraine and not a brain tumor or something exciting like that. And there are better migraine drugs coming out now.

Good luck! Hope they’re nice and not too obviously crazy.

I used to go there as I kid, I love that it’s still going strong. I think they’re all amazing volunteers who run it.

That sounds delightful. Mine’s mostly partially-eaten cat food.

Bin night tomorrow, thankfully. After this hot week you can smell it when I open the front door. So gross.

Nah it’s Melbourne.

No painters in my family but my great aunt did this tapestry which now hangs on my study wall:

I can’t remember which building it is.

Ew. Migraines can suck a dick, especially the ‘fancier’ types- I occasionally get vestibular or hemiplegic. So much worse than the common-or-garden variety, and those are quite bad enough.
I hope you get some relief soon.

Apparently new meds mean Lifeblood can no longer take my blood. Oh well. Still got a honeycomb Nippys.

You might be entering your Disney Princess Era. Look out for mice sewing ballgowns.

You can probably send something through his publisher? I reckon he’d be stoked to hear that.
Channel 9 are pissing me off on so many fronts. For one, do they realise that just because it’s called the Australian Open doesn’t mean that they can only televise Australians? They’re showing Tomljanovic on two channels ffs.
And then there’s the relentless advertising for the horrific-looking Married At First Sight, I’m ready to sanction torture for anyone involved in the conception and production of that show.
I like tennis but I might just give up and read a book.
