I’ve tried this, to convert a large json file to simplified yaml. It was riddled with hallucinations and mistakes even for this simple, deterministic, verifiable task.

Programming@programming.dev•Software Engineer vs Software DeveloperEnglish
5·2 years agoIMO an engineer should be able to develop a complex system which an entire company could potentially be based upon.
A developer who isn’t an engineer would focus more on individual libraries, apps or tools that don’t necessarily require the mindset of an engineer to design and maintain.

Smart Homes@feddit.uk•Matter 1.2 is a big move for the smart home standardEnglish
4·2 years agoI feel like there’s something fundamentally wrong with a messaging protocol that needs new versions to support new device types or features.
Something like MQTT certainly wouldn’t require that.
I won’t be switching away from ZigBee/MQTT for Thread/Matter any time soon.

homeassistant@lemmy.world•Simple, dedicated Spotify or MP3 speaker/player?English
2·2 years agoBluesound is great IMO, no built in microphones which was important for me, good sound, integrates well with HA.
I’ve got a smaller speaker in the kitchen and a larger one in the lounge.
The text is just completely incorrect in this case. “Hold your finger” doesn’t in any way instruct the user to use the fingerprint scanner so the developer shouldn’t be surprised that its not understood.

That’s hilarious since the EU introduced anticompetitive tariffs on Chinese vehicles last year. China was actually willing to negotiate with the EU to set a minimum price. And they’re still more popular than anything the west can produce.
