Cooperatives are the best answer. Capitalists will argue they should outcompete traditional firms in the market. If they’re supposed to be better they’d win, right? But the thing is they’re only better for most people… and not the few richest that benefit the most from the current capitalist system. And everyone’s too damn brainwashed to understand private ownership of the means of production is the root cause of so many problems. But let’s just regulate capitalism.

If cooperatives goal is to provide for its members and community while a traditional firms goal is profit maximization, regulation fixes nothing.

  • Turns out its actually cooperation and not competition that breeds innovation. Capitalist firms artificially simulate this internally. I think it was Lowes that tried to run its departments through competition by pitting them against each other and the business nearly went under. Not to mention a lot of innovation ultimately comes from socialist funding of research in universitiese (eg iPhones, mobile phones and their networking, aerospace engineering, advances in pharmaceuticals, etc).

  • Most people in the states can barely reach their feet. They have a special bench in their house for putting their shoes on, but they have to make sure they do a proper warmup routine, chair yoga, before else they’ll pull something. Putting their shoes on is like the most exercise they’ll ever get in a day. Too stubborn to admit they need their own handicap parking permit after they stole the one they use from their aging mothers. They take an ultralight backpacking camp chair for the two story elevator ride at work. They can’t be expected to take off their shoes until they have to take their once weekly shower.

  • I was pretty dissapointed in the p14s gen 2 build quality considering thinkpads reputation and past quality. I returned this due to potential hardware issues, but it could have been an amdgpu driver on linux or lenovo bios issue. I got the T14 gen 3 for the magnesium bottom chassis but build quality was actually worse. In any case, if I were you, I’d consider the T14s which supposedly uses more premium materials. Lenovo laptops are confusing… But pretty sure these are also supposed to have better battery life. Although they aren’t upgradable.

There’s also a few laptop brands built specifically for Linux. I’m aware of system 76, framework, and tuxedo. You could look into these as well.
