I’ve had so much luck with used appliances, the trick is to go to appliance shops that are able to do repairs.

We’ve gotten two different sets from two different used appliance stores. The first set lasted about 9 years and survived several moves. When they finally died we found another (refurbished) matching set, $400 at a used appliance store, they even took our old set away (which I’m sure and hope they refurb’d and sold again). We used them for about 4 months, when the washer suddenly stopped working. We called the place we got it from and they actually came out and repaired it for free due to a 6 month warranty we didn’t even know about, they were super apologetic. It was a pretty positive experience.

We’ve been pretty lucky I guess. You might have to shop around a bit but you can definitely save a ton of money if you’re willing to forgo bells and whistles.

For food, they said they would take money from your possessions to buy McDonald’s. No choice of what food, no choice of better food, no choice of when.

This is hilarious, I feel like there are better ways to show kids the horrors of imprisonment than telling them “you don’t get to pick your value meal.”

Worst case scenario? Well, it’s a good thing you got out while you could.

Larry David, co-creator, head writer and EP for seven seasons, is funny. The character of George is a stand-in for Larry and if you watch with that in mind it becomes more apparent that Jerry is essentially playing “the straight man” to his funnier cast mates. Which is great because as you mention, Jerry’s not very funny or relatable and comes across as a pompous dick most of the time.

He came over during the first wave of reddit API refugees afaik, contributes a ton (is terminally online), and probably messaged the mods/admins expressing an interest in modding.

He’s a bit of a PTB but I’ve seen worse. Forums/magazines/etc aren’t democracies and as the old internet adage goes “mods = gods” and you don’t have to like them but there’s little than can be done about their temper tantrums.

I’ve learned to limit my interactions with him as he definitely tries to bait people or put words in their mouths, pretty typical mod bullshit tbh.

That’s only an issue if you’re weighing single digit grams.
