I’m going back and playing old puzzles. Eventually I’ll learn that sometimes I should put a wall right next to the horse.

Well this is fun. I’m going to try enclose.horse for a while. I have a Wordle-sized daily gap to fill.

My subreddit voted to participate in the Reddit API blackouts in June 2023. When Spez doubled down on enshittifying Reddit, we voted to go dark until the situation improves, but Reddit never got better. Moving to Lemmy was not a popular option at the time, but I didn’t want to stop posting, so I went to Kbin. [email protected] has been viewable on Lemmy and PieFed ever since.
My IRL home state and country are pretty embarrassing these days, so I say I’m from the Internet.

It’s Oji Town’s 100th anniversary, so have another GIF from the same video.

This is for [email protected] . You install this in a retro PC where a physical drive would go. Your retro PC thinks your disk images are actual disks, and everything else works like it used to. It’s a nice quality-of-life improvement.
Retro game consoles have been doing this for a while. The Sega Dreamcast’s GD-ROM drive is prone to failure, so modders replace it with hardware that loads disk images. I haven’t heard of this for retro PCs before, but it makes sense.

Or is it the magic of television? #illusion

Every Cabinet position is filled with the worst possible person for the job. This is done on purpose to make the government fail at all the things it should be doing. We knew this would happen, of course.
Take everything they say as examples of what not to do. Don’t do what Donny Don’t does.

Suppose we did this, but only smart people comply and the ignorant masses just reproduce more. That’s how Idiocracy happens.

Amazon’s cloud computing services, the authors wrote, “have become vital to ICE’s crackdown on immigrants, with their data storage being used for mass surveillance and deportation.”
AT&T, which received $382 million in Department of Homeland Security contracts between 2022-24, “serves as the digital backbone for Trump’s deportation machine.”
Home Depot “has appeared to be collaborating with Trump’s ICE mass immigration sweeps on their property, putting thousands of customers and employees’ safety at risk.”
Microsoft—which gave the Trump Inaugural Committee $750,000 in 2024—has received at least $45 million in homeland security-related contracts in recent years.
Palantir has partnered with ICE to use the company’s artificial intelligence system to identify, track, and deport suspected undocumented immigrants—and is reportedly helping the government build a database of Americans’ private information in likely violation of multiple laws.
The only one of these I still use at all is Microsoft. I realize now that I have a moral imperative to stop giving them money.
Hey, Stuart Little 2 for the PS1 is a surprisingly good 3D platformer.
Oh hey, nice community here! The wholesome approach is sweet. I might crosspost more stuff your way later.

Offer a draw. If they don’t take the draw, throw catnip at row 8 and hope for the best.
OK, I like that one. At first, I thought we had to underpromote to rook and then castle somehow, but this isn’t [email protected] .
We underpromote to knight instead.

I used the opportunity to make my first post on Twitter in a year. Another guillotine picture, of course. Guillotines are the only appropriate thing to post there now.

It’s not a “kill switch” built into Starlink, but radio jammers imported from Russia. Either way, Starlink service is having trouble in Iran.
So, how good are sneakernets nowadays? Can people send each other UDP packets by flash drive?
Edit: There’s actually a separate discussion about Meshtastic and HAM radio and stuff. I wonder if any of that would work in Iran today.
I’ve been using a Fairphone 4 for a couple weeks, and I like it so far. This is the way phones should be made. I eventually found replacements for most of my Google stuff. It’s just sad that my government burned our bridges with trade, so any replacement parts I import will be expensive.
