  • Socialism is a transition period between capitalism (and other modes of production that came before it) towards communism. Socialism even by Lenin’s and Marx’s words is a period riddled with contradictions. The state’s role is to work towards communism. China is applying marxism-leninism to its context and is doing amazing while at it. Strengthening the productive forces as to combat imperialism is the way to go and China knows it. China doesn’t need western ultra-lefts living at the tit of the empire to tell it what it has to do to ensure the survival of its sovereign state for the betterment of the working class’s material conditions.

It also contributes to the climate catastrophe by providing copious amounts of oil. It also enjoys the fruits of the exploitation in the Global South, hence it can redistribute said fruits of imperialism to its people, which is indeed better than the US oligarchs hoarding it all, but not by a lot.

  • The biggest issue with No King’s, at least out of my perspective is that it is only centered around Trump and his cronies, and doesn’t actually target the system that keeps churning out people like Trump, produces them and puts them into power. Americans believe that Trump happened to them like a natural disaster would, and that they were sadly just ill prepared. They fail to see and correctly point out that the system thrives on people like Trump and actively pursues putting them into positions of power. Until that isn’t addressed, these protests will bring about no material change.
