Personal Finance - UK@feddit.uk•BBC News - UK wages grow at record rateEnglish
7·2 years agoIt would be interesting to see a breakdown of pay ranges where this wage growth is happening.
We’ve been told no pay rises because of “current economic conditions” but I’m sure the execs have had theirs

Personal Finance - UK@feddit.uk•BBC News - UK wages grow at record rateEnglish
10·2 years agoStrong pay growth means the Bank of England could raise interest rates again in September, from the current rate of 5.25%.
The jobless rate rose from 4% to 4.2%, while the number of people in employment ticked lower.
Good to see the worst off will be hit the most as always.

1·2 years agoIf you’re just looking for easy access cash and the best interest rates then pick an account from the list on this page https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest/
Ok strange, looks to be a kbin problem. I don’t see it on any Lemmy instance but on your instance I see that and on kbin.social I get another weird banner (not nsfw at least)
Wtf it’s not for me (I haven’t actually even set a banner).
Mind sharing a screenshot?

Fediverse@lemmy.world•When you notice Lemmy is quieter than usual, then have a look at the Lemmy.world statusEnglish
492·3 years agoIt was always going to happen but an instance being the defacto default for Lemmy is a bad thing.
There really needs to be a tool to help people pick an instance, but even then people would just flock to the general instances like .world anyway

This needs updating, there’s a shift to weighing people in kilograms now. Thank god

9·3 years agoI’d love to use mastadon but I use twitter for sport/politics journalists and none of them are on mastadon.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•is there a way to see the front page or list of communities of an instance without getting out of the instance you're currently in ?English
6·3 years agoThere’s https://lemmyverse.net/communities which will show you all the communities that exist. You can filter by instance as well.
It’s a separate site though.

Feddit UK@feddit.uk•What's the best way to spread the word about Feddit.uk and get more people involved with the instance?English
0·3 years agoIt’s a great idea having the UK based communities on this instance. But if people on other instances don’t subscribe then other users on that instance won’t be able to find the communities here in their search bar.
I do worry the large instances will end up being where all the communities are and people will just have accounts on the smaller ones
They’ve just killed off third-party apps no way they’d do this as it just completely undos what they’re trying to achieve + allows users with accounts they don’t even own

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Will there be a fediverse app anytime in the future?English
7·3 years agoA Fediverse browser that allows you to connect to a range of fediverse platforms would probably be the only thing to get me fully invested in it tbh. I’m quite enjoying lemmy but I’ve not really had much interest in the other platforms other than mastodon but twitter has all the people I follow so hard to move off of it

Looks like that is happening again :/
