There have been a handful of good kings through history. Because they didn’t have to seize power, it was handed to them. Very few though.

A simple.22 riffle with a suppressor is quiet enough you could hunt small game even if it was illegal and no one would hear it unless they’re close enough to also see it.

1·10 hours agoProfessor Nick Harrison recreates songs using AI and giving it stylistic direction/prompts. AI can’t write good music but if you give it direction it does a pretty good job of changing instrumentation and vocals. He does two genres - soul and yacht rock. I don’t care for the yacht rock stuff but the soul stuff is pretty decent sometimes. I have a couple of his recreations in my Spotify playlists. I kinda dig this version of Tool’s song.
My family’s early 1900s experience with Russia did involve that. I’m no lover of capitalism either but most starvation happens for political reasons not supply. Evil people in power don’t care regardless of the economic system.

3·22 hours agoAll of the genres try to push the envelope to some extent. I listened to all of them. I loved the vibe and recklessness of nu metal bands like Korn particularly. It’s funny that two of the band members are Christian now. In my mind the songs pushing the envelope the hardest these days is shit like WAP. Can’t say I’m really a fan of that song in particular but I’m still listening to everything I can.

13·21 hours agoI pretty much like good music from many generations and genres. But you know what I don’t understand? About 85% of the Beatles songs. They had a few great songs, but so many of them do absolutely nothing for me.

6·22 hours agoThe richest guy I know (I know two people who own majorities of companies worth over a billion, although one recently sold and he’s not quite a billionaire) they both have personal assistants who do all their work for them and write emails etc. which leaves them free to talk to people. And I’ll be honest, they are on business all the time, they’re obsessed. Even if it’s someone else’s business.
You know who I know who write their own emails and are great communicators? Lawyers. I know a few lawyers. They’re exhausting, but they actually have great work ethics usually.
Meanwhile he’s literally creating brain chips which might actually be the Biblical mark of the beast. That’s a rabbit hole I haven’t dived down (there’s yet another 666 numerical theory buried in thee somewhere) but I don’t care how ridiculous the idea is. Fuck this guy regardless.
It doesn’t have to say to do it when it just consistently happens. It’s what we call the quiet part. Sometimes the quiet part gets said out loud but not always. We do get little peeks here and there even when people aren’t being mass murdered. Like when anti marxists get murdered and their deaths are widely celebrated amongst marxists.
I’m currently a little heavy, I’m not going to lie. But I haven’t always been. And even when I was really thin all the following was still true. I’m I’m only 5’10" (1.78m for the rest of you). But I wear 2xl gloves. I wear a 3xl motorcycle helmet. I have siize 13.5 us feet (EU 48-49). Usually people have a wingspan pretty close to their height, sometimes a little less or a little more. But my wingspan is just over 6’5" (1.96 m) which is 7" or 18cm bigger than my height. My leg bones are way thicker than average, almost freakishly so. Even when I was in marathon running condition, and even at my medium height I could dunk a basketball, I was technically right on the edge of obese by BMI standards. I beat our schools presidential physical fitness record when I was 14. I could stack all of the plates on the leg press machine easily, our football team guys couldn’t do it. BMI is a load of shit for some of us.
The reflection absolutely does not rule out morbidly obese. It is by definition morbidly obese. The bmi scale does not care about muscle mass.
Yeah I know it’s stupid. I’m also ridiculously categorized as morbidly obese. I’m quite a bit lighter than that though.

Fuck The USA@lemmy.ca•Trump’s tariff war is crushing American alcohol makersEnglish
11·3 days agoIt’s still very illegal in quite a few states, even many medical states strongly prosecute non card holders. But there have been many studies showing as cannabis use increases, alcohol sales decrease. Maybe that’s part of the reason Canada’s imports are down.
To be fair, Marxism has killed a fuckload of people.
Edit oh no people down voting who don’t like the truth
I noticed that too. I clearly don’t know what the fuck is going on here.
Back at you fucker

politics @lemmy.world•Out with the old? Young Democrats are trying to convince voters to send a new generation to CongressEnglish
14·3 days agoWhen was the last time the Democrats had a really broad field of choices in the primary? I remember the Republican primaries leading up to the '16 election, the field was huge. And Trump crushed them all. I feel like Democrats haven’t had much choice in way too long.
