But our strength is in our numbers. Get organized. Maybe in a political party, maybe “just” in some sort of collective that helps in an area you care about. Help others in whatever capacity fits your abilities and your situation. And don’t expect it to be a quick victory. That will only result in disappointment. Das hängt sehr stark davon ab, wie lax man “links” definiert. Wenn man als Kriterium für linke Politik vage Zustimmung zu Menschenrechten, Umweltschutz und Demokratie (solange man nichts weiter tun muss, als alle paar Jahre zu wählen, natürlich) heranzieht, dann vielleicht. Aber mit wirklicher linker Politik, also dem hinterfragen systemischer Ungerechtigkeit und der wirtschaftlichen Besitzverhältnisse, hat das nichts zu tun.

Dieses Assoziieren von Bildungsgrad (bzw. Intelligenz, wenn man ehrlich wäre) mit rechter Politik ist genau einer der Gründe, die die “weniger Gebildeten” tiefer in die Arme der rechten Populisten treiben. Mit höherem Bildunggsstand hat man idR auch mehr finanzielle Freiheit und kann sich den liberalen Idealismus leisten.

Manchmal denke ich mir, wir linke sind zu harsch darin, die “liberalen Medien” so zu verschreien. Und dann kommt sowas.
