Libreboot already disables the Intel ME by default, using me_cleaner, but the T480/T480s specifically have an additional quirk:

One of the benefits of deguard for Intel MEv11 is that it sets the ME in such a state where you can run unsigned code in there. This is how the Intel Boot Guard was disabled, because it is the ME that enforces such restrictions; more information about deguard is available on a dedicated page.

The deguard utility could also be used to enable the red-unlock hack, which would permit unsigned execution of new CPU microcode, though much more research is needed. Because of these two facts, this makes the T480/T480s the most freedom-feasible of all relatively modern x86 laptops.

With deguard, you have complete control of the flash. This is unprecedented on recent Intel systems in Libreboot, so it’s certainly a very interesting port!

If I’m getting this article correctly, they’re only getting paid for the success of the show within 90 days of release on a streaming platform. Everything else is based on the streaming service buying the license to show the series.

So the only way to maybe get them some additional pay would be for you to purchase it through some non streaming method like buying a dvd from amazon, or to wait for paramount to sell the license to a new streaming service and you take part in the whatever percentage of the service is required to watch the show within 90 days for them to get a bonus.

The difference is how often they’re updated.

Sure, they built a shit load of infrastructure here as well. For example we had the most expensive highway built by Chinese prisoners, and paid for by Chinese loans. It not only started to show wear less then a year in, but there are sections that are literally expected to collapse.

We had the most expensive reconstruction done by Chinese workers, the ceiling collapsed and killed a bunch of people.

And so on, etc…

Now they’re in talks to turn over every remaining national resource to them, to cover a part of the great work they’ve done so far, while Chinese companies are literally releasing unprocessed toxic waste into rivers.

I think I prefer one over the other.

It’s nice to have a preference in the taste of the boot standing on your face…
