36·2 years ago“I’d hit him right in that fake nose. He’d have plastic lying all over the floor,” Trump said, while standing there with lifts in his shoes, five different hair transplants, a girdle, and three layers of bronzer makeup.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Apart from “life is short”, what other lines do you use before making bad decisions?English
3·2 years agoSuch a great album opener. I love when people are hearing it for the first time and turn up the volume to hear the intro better and then, well, you know…

New Communities@lemmy.world•Regular posters, which communities are you currently focusing on?English
31·3 years ago[email protected] is probably the community I’m most active in. It’s a welcoming community for anyone who brews their own alcohol (mainly beer focused I would say but some people have made mead and other wines).

9·3 years agoAll of Tolkien’s original artwork from the Hobbit is fantastic. My copy has several interspersed throughout the book including my absolute favorite:
which I shamelessly edited to make another beer label a while back:

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Without using pronouns (me, he, she, it, etc) or articles (a, an, the), how did you come up with your user name?English
4·3 years agoBaconeater eat bacon. Bacon tasty!
They look like Yorkshire Puddings so I would guess they taste pretty similar. They are savoury and don’t taste of too much by themselves (but are fantastic smothered in gravy)

1·3 years agoThis is some of the first artwork that does a good job showcasing why all the other characters in the book keep thinking the Hobbits are just children.

boardgames@feddit.de•Who else backed the Slay the Spire board game kickstarter?English
1·3 years agoNice! I backed the kickstarter as soon as it came out but I haven’t played the game yet on TTS. I did watch Jorbs stream it with one of the developers and it looked awesome. “This is the first time I’ve ever needed one more gold at the store and the devs have actually stopped by to give me one more gold”

Meta (lemm.ee)@lemm.ee•New rules for bots on lemm.ee & Lemmy programming stream
102·3 years agoEDIT: I guess I hadn’t looked for more webcomic communities in a while and there are more available now which have people actually posting OC to instead of just reposting from elsewhere with no discussion. I’ll leave my original comment below regardless.
I’m of mixed opinion about this. I only subscribe to one bot-led community ([email protected]) and whilst I hate that every comic is just reposted from Reddit by the bot and so has no comments or discussion, it seems that no comic creators are posting to Lemmy yet and so I would rather still be able to see the content they are creating than miss it entirely. I understand that both the community and the bot are hosted on lemmit.online so they won’t be affected by the bot policy of lemm.ee but it still speaks to the problem of lack of content posted to Lemmy in general (at least in certain communities).

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some useful or just cool stuff to memorize?
0·3 years agoThis is wrong? Taking 20°C as an example. Following this formula gives 48°F when it should be 68. Could you perhaps be supposed to add 32 instead of 12?

Gaming@beehaw.org•Looking for a casual game that I can quickly pick up or put down
3·3 years agoAbsolutely. I’ve recommended it several times here on Lemmy in various best game/most played game type threads. I honestly cannot recommend Slay the Spire enough. It is an extremely easy game to learn (but like all the best games) tricky to master. Because of its Roguelike(ish) nature, it is infinitely re-playable with each run having a different feel.

The important part is you have to ask what kind of car it is…
