  • He is really popular. There is a certain amount of people know that he actually believes something, even if they disagree, and he is loud about trying something, rather than the classic nothing can ever change mantra.

I think a lot of the flack he gets from the left is bc nyc dsa and his cadre don’t realize the political power they have and are much to timid and willing to acquiesce on points that they think matter. I don’t think keeping tisch was at all needed, i think it was a bad decision. It makes me much more skeptical but I’m not sure I’m fully onboard that he was a secret zionist the whole time. I think he and his advisors have convinced themselves its a concession they need to make/work around. I think they are wrong.

On the nyc dsa thing, If you have an org with 12k members in any municipality you can flip any house seat in the us if you actually mobilize. They should be aiming to have a majority of nyc house seats be dsa backed, like aim higher. idk a little rant

  • Absolute bad faith bullshit from smc.

Citing an early head to head poll is so insane. It name recognition that’s it. The opinion they cite from socialist majority is just full of non sequiturs, the whole yimby section is wild. He worked with an elected after they defeated a dsa candidate, he isnt that other person. The plan has very high percentage of required rent stabilized low income units. Like to call it abundance libshit is insane.

When given the chance to endorse Eon Huntley for State Assembly in 2024 against an opponent backed by the real estate and pro-Israel lobby, he decided to stay silent

Man what does this wishy washy shit even mean? Was his endorsement even sought after? He endorsed him this cycle https://x.com/eonforassembly/status/1983595029210746946

Like there are zero substantial policy critiques in these opinion pieces lmao

  • No worries. I’m unsure how good he will do in ny-15 bc there is a much worse but still “progressive” guy running in the dem primary who prob has a good chance of beating torres. If Andre faces him in the general it will prob be uglier and I don’t see him winning.

It’s one of those thing where I think dsa and psl should prob try to run like wfp(they have their own line on the ballot but it’s still a dem) not because I think you can change the Dems from the inside but bc of how fptp districts bear out. Idk people a psl have put a lot of thought into it, running in seats they can’t split and let a neo Nazi R win or w/e.
