I was in a similar boat. Initially, I ran debian with docker but later on decided to check out unraid. It’s pretty easy to get setup, and you have a lot of docker containers pre-configured, so you can just click and install. I have it notify me whenever something goes on with it, but outside of that, I don’t tinker much with it.
Only two weird things about it though…

You dont install unraid. Instead, you run it through a usb. More specifically, the usb has a specific config that’ll then load everything to your memory.

Recently, they redid their pay structure so not too familiar with the changes but you do have to pay for unraid.

Technology@lemmy.world•T-Mobile sued after employee stole nudes from customer phoneEnglish
31·2 years agoI sold phones for several years. ALOT of people have no idea how to do even the first step of what you said. The process was always sell, transfer, wipe, and turn in. Transfer would require a passcode many times while going through the process, and customers would often tell you it to make the process easier. From young to old, they all need help doing that “easiest” thing.

Gaming@beehaw.org•PlayStation’s first Remote Play dedicated device, PlayStation Portal remote player, to launch later this year at $199.99English
19·2 years agoWaste of money. Why not compete with the switch/steamdeck? Make the remote play an option like you’ve done in the past. A digital ps5 is $400 and the portal is $200. I’m paying $600 and can’t take the device anywhere. Steamdeck starts at $400 and the switch is $300. Hell, I can install remote play on the steam deck and do the same thing the portal does. Sucks this is how sony is getting back into “portable” gaming.
All the drama started from this video
Gamers Nexus then made a video breaking down a bunch of issues with LMG
Linus responded 3 hours after GN posted their video.
The response was rushed and poorly made. Gamers Nexus the next day made a response.
Which made LinusTechTips push out a video addressing some of the concerns and what they are gonna do.
Then, an ex-employee came out, stating many of the issues they had with the company.
LinusTechTips on twitter (or x i guess?) stated they are looking into it.
Philip Defranco summarizes everything within 10 minutes and includes a couple of questions they asked LMG. I thought he did pretty well, so its alot better than spending several hours looking into everything.

Linux@lemmy.ml•[Rant] I swear to fucking god. Windows is harder to use than Linux. Have any of you ever USED Windows lately? Holy fuck.English
6·3 years agoInstalling Windows is easy, but once something goes wrong, troubleshooting becomes more challenging. You have an error code? Yeah, well, try these 100+ things that are the same things you gotta try with every other error code out there. None of those things worked? Well, reinstall windows that should fix it.
Granted, I have plenty of experience with linux at this point to where I won’t stress when something fucks up but ive dealt with my fair share of windows issues as well. The majority of the time, I end up reinstalling windows…

Piracy: ꜱᴀɪʟ ᴛʜᴇ ʜɪɢʜ ꜱᴇᴀꜱ@lemmy.dbzer0.com•How do you find media to watch?
10·3 years agoInitially it was just using overseerr and letting everyone that use my server just request what they wanted. I would also just explore overseerr once in awhile to see whats new.
Now though, I have several lists configured in both radarr and sonarr that are made by mdblist that will add the latest popular films/shows. Due to this usually I can just check my server and I’ll already have either the show or the movie without doing anything.

Gaming@beehaw.org•The Sony Project Q handheld is running Android in a leaked videoEnglish
2·3 years agoI get it, the usual person wouldnt want to tinker much but I was able to get remote play on my steam deck and run god of war ragnarok with little to no issue. Dont see why they dont just make their own version to compete and have the remote play as another feature.
Pure capitalism allows many to abuse the system and that results in what we have today here in the us. Overtime politicians have continued to do patchwork to simply get by for the next one to take over and scrap whatever agenda the previous one had in play. Which makes the problems worst and in turn takes longer to address.
We need both legislation and accountability for alot of things but it seems to be impossible to get both of those things. Hell, I dont care that your rich. Just dont bring everyone down with you when you take that one gamble and it causes everything to crash!

Simple Answer: No
The moment you need to think about what distribution you need to choose from is where it’ll stop any (dumb)user. Most people want a simple process with very little thinking.
If you are interested in learning linux and willing to take the time to understand the entire process that comes with it then yes.
