This was an excellent, thoughtful piece, and a reminder of some of the realities of the game we love. My Dad played for the Ti-Cats in the 60s, but in a backup role, nowhere near the playing time of Gary Chown so he didn’t pay the same physical cost. That said, he had former teammates who most definitely did. I’m glad we’ve made the game safer, and I hope we can continue to do so.
