Do you mean the annotation like @[email protected] - AFAIK it’s just a way to link to the user or community, I don’t think it notifies everyone. You can link using
for users, and!for communities, so the community equivalent is: [email protected]@dandelion how the different platforms federated. I didn’t realize mastodon could talk directly to lemmy, etc…

@photonic_sorcerer I was! That’s awesome. I’m setting up a lemmy server of my own (to go with this mastodon server) and trying to understand how they interact, with the end goal being to try and get my wife to give up on Reddit and this being here is a great help…towards that.
