People who debate whether or not we will have elections are missing the point. We will have elections, but Trump will “investigate” the Democrats. Partly to build a public narrative that they did something wrong and that the Republican candidate is the better moral choice, but also to intimidate the opposition.
Remember that Nixon was forced to resign before getting impeached for simply wiretapping the opposition. Imagine the reactions if he weaponised his government against them instead.
