They’re saying the other side is waging a “war on meat”, the post title is shortened in a less than ideal way. I was confused too because it seems conservatives, in most “Western” countries at least, wouldn’t be in favour of anything meat-free so the notion of US conservatives, of all people, being against meat is a wild one.

Eat more legumes people! If you prefer low effort, eat lentils, they don’t need to be soaked.
Or get a pressure cooker and never have to soak beans again!
Im pretty sure the soaking also improves digestibility.
