about
After writing for years for this project that was a true dream of mine for a long time, I always knew I that I wanted to celebrate the beginning of Flip The Mule officially releasing music with this song. From the moment that I wrote the first two lines, I knew that this one was to be the start of a new journey for me. By the time I finished the last verse, I was all in, and ready to put everything I had into this art. This is not a political song. This is not a protest song. This is simply me introducing myself to anyone who may listen.
lyrics
I’m in a different kind of headspace
It’s a different kind of vibe
Not the only plan that I made, but the name of the game, just survive
Some people say it just the season
But the seasons pass all the same
I won’t be asking you or the meta a searchable question today
And I don’t plan to ask tomorrow
But if I do break my own rule
Cool
I ain’t gonna argue with you
Let’s go ahead and say you’re right
Ain’t no sense in you waiting for me to give you a piece of my mind
Hell I may never even speak up
I may never let it unwind
I just hope I’m always okay being the first to apologize
So if they think that I’m a sucker
Because I won’t accept the duel
Cool
I realize you may not see it
Just exactly as I do
At the end of the day if you do walk way don’t slam it, just pull it to
And leave it open just a little
So you can come back anytime
It’s just misunderstandings and friendships landing on the wrong of side of the aisle
I guess I’ve got my own deal breakers
If this is what we have to do
Cool
I just realized
I can’t make it perfect, can’t fix everything
I could go on all night
But I don’t know whether to fight or just be cool
Sometimes it seems we’re going backwards
And I think about my little girl
20 years from now how hard will she have to fight for her place in the world
Will it be the same diseases
That somehow we can’t seem to cure
Will she be able to love who ever she wants to
And decide her own future
And no matter what she chooses
As long as she has the right to choose
Cool
