I’m not sure what it says, but I do know that writing is Greek and not cuneiform, so it’s likely not the complaint about Ea-nasir.
A matching image search says it may be one of the inscryptions around Arsameia, but I don’t know enough about Greek writing or archaeology to say that with any certainty.

Games@lemmy.world•What do you guys think of Crimson Desert?English
2·3 days agoMaybe. Though it might still be difficult with the number of button combos (basically a different function for each pair of face buttons you press at the same time).
Gameplay-wise it feels more like a fighting game than something like Dark Souls, it’s built around combos. I’m sure it’ll be fun for many, and like I said things could even be different than when I tried it a year ago, but for now I’m gonna wait and see what reviews say after launch, maybe wait for a sale if I’m still on the fence.

7·3 days agoI had a chance to play it at an event last year. Maybe things have improved in the interim, but I’ve never played a game with a more obtuse control scheme in my life.

News@lemmy.world•Trump’s Response to Supreme Court Rejecting His Tariffs Is New Tariffs
10·4 days agoI don’t believe that it was explicitly stated that refunds had to happen, but the avoidance of that possibility was a motivation of the dissent.
In his dissent, Kavanaugh wrote that “the refund process is likely to be a mess”, which operates under the assumption that refunds remain on the table now that Trump’s tariffs were ruled unconstitutional.
I’m guessing it will come down to individual lawsuits by the affected parties against the Trump administration to make the specific case that refunds are needed and justified. If a few succeed, that sets the precedent for more. At that point, the government may decide to simply set up a refund program to reimburse folks and try to save some money by not challenging every claim in court.
Some was context pulled from this NPR article:

32·4 days agoI’m not too worried about additional tariffs passing through congress, though. That would have been the safer approach to try from the beginning if Trump’s people thought they could make it work. They opted for this workaround loophole nonsense specifically to go around congress because they had already ruled out the possibility of congressional approval.
I just don’t think Trump could ever manage to get enough support from congress. Certainly not with how unpopular the tariffs currently are, and certainly not right before the midterms.

Though the Pantheon in Rome is a legitimately marvelous piece of engineering that they were somehow able to pull off nearly 2,000 years ago.
The only difference is that the Pantheon says who made it right on the front facade, and obviously the aliens would never lie to us about that.
(I know Agrippa’s original structure was actually rebuilt by Hadrian, but still)

3·5 days agoMight still be worth checking your WiFi access point to see if there’s anything weird going on. The Switches still connect to one another locally using the same WiFi chipset they’d use to connect to your router. Seems odd that one would struggle while the other works without issue in that case.

3·5 days agoTo continue the sandwich analogy, it’s also, like…
You eat the sandwich made by your loved one, and not only is it everything you asked for, but they also threw in some good salami and a dash of balsamic vinegar that you never thought to even ask for in the first place, because they know your tastes and thought you’d like it. You now have a new favorite sandwich.
Versus the gas station sandwich, which is fine, but only just meets the bare minimum qualifications to be a sandwich. They used to load it up with cheap cuts of meat, which at least made it good value for the price, but lately they put in maybe a single slice of ham or two, a single sad piece of rubbery cheese, and condiments are all sold extra. And the price of the sandwich itself, smaller and cheaper than ever, has only gone up.

Honestly that does sound more believable as a party name.
Can even turn Venus into an easier direct sell. It’s a lot bigger than Mars (more land = more money), actually has an atmosphere, is named after a Roman sex goddess, and is 100% free of communism (the USSR’s probes were destroyed).
Sure, the scientists warn that the greenhouse effect causes Venus’s temperature to exceed 400°C on the surface, but they already know those scientists are full of shit because the greenhouse effect is fake news.
Makes me want to start a hard-left “American Conservative Christofascist” party.
