Recently had an issue with qt5-webengine not building, leading to stremio not updating. Every fix i tried i had to try to rebuild, only for it to fail until a glorious person posted a comment on its AUR page.
Also, fuck electron
I made the icy-nord and icy-nord-darker themes.

Im a neovim user myself, and i swapped my caps and escape keys at the os level. I touch another computer and am WONDERING WHY IM WRITING LIKE THIS xD

Im not from the US but ill be mean to any one of them i encounter

Whenever i encounter the “we cant revolt, theyll shoot us” argument from americans i always think to myself “so youd rather they shoot someone else in a different country then? Right”
Its clear subconsciously at least they think theyre superior and value their own lives above other nation’s peoples.

Give fairphone a look. Maybe youll like them and what they do
So is not voting AND doing nothing else…

My point was basically to try to make you look at it from a different perspective. Sure 1 euro is better than 0, but thats not the point I was trying to make.
That looks at it from the perspective of the person in need of that 1 euro, or however much money. Im asking you to look at it from the perspective of the one giving the money. Now ask yourself why they would give just 1, if they can give 5, or 10, or give 1 consistently every month, assuming theyre rich-rich compared to the homeless guy.
The reason seems to be that the person giving the money doesnt care about helping in any way, they just want to do the minimum so that they can claim they help abd support the homeless.
Context and intent matters when discussing things like this, I think. If the intent is self serving, we shouldnt be treating FUTO as a beacon of OSS support. What we should be doing is acknowledging that they did give a small one time donation to various projects, but also recognising that it was for self-serving reasons. I’m sure theres individuals who have given more than 1000 in single payments to these projects, or less but more consistently (monthly, every 6 months, every year, etc). What makes FUTO more of a supporter than those individuals?
Anyway, I hope I explained my thinking well enough :)
Edit: I gave you the upvote even though I dont entirely agree with the way you see this matter, simply because I saw you got downvoted probably by someone else who disagrees with your opinion. However, upvotes/downvotes should be used to rate quality of discussion, not agreement/disagreement with the content.
Wouldnt a true anarchist explicitly NOT do nothing? Theyd actively (keyword: actively) do what they could to resist, no?
I agree, but only one of those 2 countries has proclaimed (in law if im not mistaken, but i may be wrong) that they would intervene militarily to prevent one of their own from being tried by the ICC, regardless of the actual crimes they’ve committed. And im talking about sending special forces to extract said alleged criminal against humanity, from another sovereign nation, abiding by its own laws.
Guess which of the 2 I’m talking about? Russia is by no means the good guy, but its not a binary issue, as most people on the internet seem to react when these 2 countries are mentioned in the same sentence. Russia being ‘bad’ doesn’t automatically make the US ‘good’ and vice versa.
Sure, who’s worse shifts back and forth over the years, but to my eyes, currently, the US is worse, and its been that way for a long time. Way before trump. Anyone who thinks this all started when trump took office, is a bit deluded.
But you’re 100% right, send both of them to the ICC, in an ideal world.

Would you consider it a good deed if a rich person gave a homeless person 1 euro while not around other people, and then went around the city proclaiming they support homeless people and have been funding them? In my opinion thats not a good deed.

Wow, I never knew about all this. Its quite shocking since in my limited knowledge of FUTO I was under the impression that they support Open Source and are generally good.

This seems like a good thing. As they state, instead of just using OSS they’ll contribute back to existing projects and likely release some of their own stuff.
Hopefully they stick to it
Fascists gonna fascist i guess 💁♂️

If you look at the source page for tge section on US fascism it has a section on the current state of affairs

Semi related, but check out based.cooking for community provided recipes, with just ingredients+steps to cook.
Also, if anyone suggests Electron or anything involving a browser, I will find them and remove one electron from each atom of theirs, turning them into smoke.
This made me laugh, it was so unexpected xD
Also, while its not an answer for your question, look up ncurses if you dont know it. It might be a middle ground for your future projects, if you prefer staying in the terminal but having a UI.
My advice is to plan for eventually ditching windows completely. Use it in the beginning while youre learning, for tasks that you need to get done but dont know how on linux, but once you get comfortable with the general linux stuff, i recommend ditching the crutch of windows. That way youll be forced to use linux, which is the only way youll learn how to do those things on it.
Its so much more convenient to have just one system, and also windows has been known to mess up linux installs (replaces bootloader with its own m$ one which doesnt recognise linux. Not too bad to fix but its a pain you dont need for ever)

How would I try to track the issue down given I don’t exactly know when the issue will appear? Is there a way to set something like a listener on the discord process and just wait for it to happen and see what else happens around that time?
Walking on my desk as im working, in front of me, and of course swishing the tail right up in my face
