Blorp dev here. Thanks for using my app! Let me know if there is anything I can do that will make it even better for ya!

I’m the developer behind Blorp. Initially it was a Lemmy client, but as I add support for more piefed specific features, I feel more confident saying we have 1st class support for Lemmy and PieFed.

Blorp dev here. I’m copying the thumbnail url into the post url, but perhaps that’s incorrect. I’m open to suggestions. Again, not confident I’m handling this correctly, but one advantage of setting post.url is cross posts are compared via url, so setting that url would allow Lemmy to associate cross posts of the same image.

On the rendering side, Blorp scans post.url and if it’s an image (e.g. ends in .png), it renders it as an image post. But perhaps not all clients do that.

80 minutes late 20 days of the week

I forgot the work week is only like 20 days a month lol

Got it. You should be 20 minutes late 80% of the time.

I believe development was stopped, and then started again on a limited manner. I work on a similar project and my guess is it’s hard to quit when you’ve invested so much time. But go say some nice things to @admiralpatrick@lemmy.world. Positivity user feedback makes it much more enjoyable to donate your time to open source software.

And the website looks like it’s from the year you input

Stop. If I start browsing modular synths I will be broke

No. That’s the coolest shit I’ve ever seen

Honestly I wouldn’t overthink it. I don’t really see an issue with switching instances in the future. Unless you are really worried about your posts/comments, but Lemmy doesn’t have Karma which imo makes switching easier.

But I built Blorp to be really multi account friendly, so I would sign into your ml and zip account and try both.

A lot of people block ml, but it’s run by the Lemmy devs so I would expect it to not disappear. I personally was caught off guard with lemm.ee shutting down, but it seems like lemmy.world and Lemmy.zip are safe. I hope.

It defaults to Lemmy.zip for now. You can add custom instances by putting them in the search durning login. I don't plan on running a public instance, since running that would be time I could dedicate to working on Blorp. There’s a community !blorp@lemmy.ml, but I think I’m going to migrate to !blorp@lemmy.zip.

Blorp supports iOS. I’m an iOS user myself so I actually do most of my testing there. There’s also a macOS app, though it’s currently distributed outside the App Store. My goal is to offer a great experience on every platform.

My favorite time to work on Blorp is when I’m supposed to be paying attention to something else. 50% of this project is to prove to myself that I’m capable of finishing a project lol.

I am, but idk if I wanna open that up to federation. Hosting a public instance would likely take up more of my time. I wanna just focus on building Blorp.

That report looks sick! I also got the impression that the admins are very nice. I just also wanna make sure I chose a stable home for the community. Just want to be extra cautious after ee, shut down.
