My most recent project requires me to use teams again -.-
It finds new ways to loose my peripheral devices ever day and adds effects to my camera that are not even available in the menu. I’m wondering if they try to get you to install it, or hate Mac users or Firefox or whatever. I mean it has been bad for all the time I knew it, but it seems to be getting even worse.
That’s one thing I really love about the whole self hosting deal. I find more and more apps that I can run on my server und just utilize it on all my hardware. Only have your phone on you? No problem. Working on your companies computer? Just open the browser.
No reason to install and maintain stuff on 4 different devices
The vibe coding bro in my team proudly announced that he had even written some proper tests for our recent software project. Since I had struggled with that quite a bit (because of reasons) I wondered how he had achieved it and how they worked. “I don’t know” was the answer I got.
What about cutlery? A nice fork to the eye
Thx for the input, appreciate it! Do you have some references to work with here? I can’t quite work out what you mean by vents - like something that leads directly outside? (this might be a language issue on my side, sorry) I never expected this to be on the level of an industrial unit, but my unit looks hardly worse than those cheap extractors you can find online (which of course does not mean that either is great). And I can’t quite justify spending multiple hundred euros on an industrial unit (even with health in mind)
I have a Mac for work (dev shit) and used to love it. Still prefer it over Windows, but what really bugs me: All the preinstalled jank you can’t get rid of makes it do weird default behavior way too often. And the screens man. Trying to use multiple monitors on a dock makes me hate my life a little more every day. It’s an absolute shitshow
It’s always fun to push these mentally challenging tasks through the week, because there is no straight 2h to focus
Thx for making this post and pointing me towards CoMaps! I installed OsmAnd during my own little move away from big Corps last year, but ended up with the same issues. Just installed CoMaps and within a minute I already like it more!
With the intention of getting into 3D printing myself, I spend quite some time researching printers. Prusa checks many of my requirements and I love their approach. But the printers really seem a lot more pricey in comparison to what the competition has to offer. I get where that comes from and I’m likely to get a Prusa in the end just because of principles. But this is something you have to consider I guess.
Welch ein großartiges Bild zum Artikel!
Nice work! How is the horizontal tenon attached that the headphone rests on?
I was wondering how this will have any effect on the Programm you are going to run. Had to go to the comments to find out it’s not about that kind of jar
During the day it has the most cloud look I would say. Fluffy and white - so I still like it, even when it’s not lit up.
Thanks for the kind words! Many of my projects will also just get stuck in my head because of trying to perfect it, missing tools and just overthinking.
Wenn es für Kinder schlecht ist, kann es für Erwachsene kaum gut sein. Was tut man jetzt mit der Info? Tun vorgeschaltete Wasserfilter etwas dagegen?
Oder direkt nichts mehr trinken? Das löst nichtnur das Problem mit dem Plastik /s
Currently working with immich go for migrating my images from a folder based structure. It works like a breeze.
Sure, here’s the link

Soldering fume extractor
Unlike most people these days (at least that’s what it seems like) I don’t own a 3D printer. But a soldering iron is a little like a 3D printer, I assume: as soon as you have it, you find all kinds of uses for it. And while the project I got it for has long been abandoned, I find myself using it quite a bit. My latest addition were a few helping hands inspired by Matthias Wandel, which beats “fixturing” with pliers and random heavy objects. Which led to even more soldering. And while all soldering guides (of the 1 I actually watched) tell you to take care of ventilation, sitting in your freezing cold room, windows open, and holding your breath makes you really think about all those funny-looking fumes.

Will keep you posted 😂
Building a cloud ceiling lamp
Or: How I made the single most flammable object in my flat.
