I constantly feel as though I’m a bad person. It’s my Catholic upbringing haunting me, mixed with my anxiety. I try to remind myself that I’m not awful as I think I am.

No, I understand that. It’s shortsighted though, to think that staying on fossil fuels is the pathway to profitability. Real innovation in the energy sector is going to be electrification, renewables, and storage, and fossil energy is already a developed industry. They’re too captured by oil and gas donor money to follow their own profit-driven logic.

The rest of the planet understands that climate change is real and is acting accordingly. The US is the odd one out. Even then, US states, local governments, businesses, universities, etc all also understand that climate change is real and are moving forward with decarbonization. It’s the federal government and red states that are doing their best to stop what everyone else agrees is just common sense, if we don’t want the planet to cook

Came here to recommend Tamora Pierce. She was similarly a big influence on teenage me, and I have a lot of respect for her. A lot of what she wrote were things I badly needed to hear when I was that age. I haven’t reread any of her work recently, but I’m sure it holds up well.

Huh, who would have thought that when you reduce social stigma, people feel more comfortable being themselves?

Hey look it’s me!

(Jk, I wish I looked as good as the drawing on the right)

I was ready to see capitalism destroyed long before I realized I was a girl lol

Is that common? I was kicked off the SAVE plan, so I had to re-enroll in an older IBR plan

Jayapal and Markey are both long-time progressives without presidential ambitions, so I actually trust that they’re sincere on this one. I don’t know anything about Jacobs.

Any centrists like Newsom who think they might get the mythical moderate Republican vote by throwing trans people under the bus? I agree, I don’t trust an inch

I do not think that live-streaming executions will make our society any healthier.

Everything is a distraction from everything else. I doubt any specific catastrophe is planned, particularly as a distraction, but the cumulative effect is deliberate. The faster they go and the more chaotic everything gets, the harder it is to stay focused to stop them. See Bannon’s “muzzle velocity” theory

I… do not think that’s accurate

I was just listening to this album this morning!

Absolutely not! I have always found that my creative output has been at its best when I’m at my most mentally healthy.
