If the LLM is the top layer, and any research it does is a tool call that is purely at its discretion, it’s going to end up failing silently like this.

Yeah, I get that part, I’m just wondering how exactly they are collecting the metrics they are using to justify it, when it doesn’t seem like that data should be so easy to get.

It’s a cool idea, I think aggregation and discovery is really underrated for this stuff. The first thing I’m noticing is that most of the videos are in languages I don’t speak and don’t have English subtitles, so some way to filter by language would be helpful. The recommendation system seems to work, although there aren’t many videos in the feed. There’s lots of searchable content in the ‘channels’ tab, but no apparent way to subscribe to them or add to what content would be recommended, as the links just go to external instances.
If their reason for getting rid of it is lawsuits about harm it caused, my guess is that giving all the details of how the system is designed would be something the prosecution could use to strengthen their cases.
