Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•I think Lemmy in general is very against AI. I'm rather new here, is it like a fediverse group thing or is this even based on reality?
261·1 day agoReality as an artist dictates that all my work was datamined without my consent and anything I post in the future, should I choose to do so, will. And the end result of this data mining is to drive artists like me out of business. I don’t mind the average Joe getting their anime girl with three titties in five minutes, but company owners are making money out of this and paying nobody for their source material.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why does cats (and similar animals) can live with the exact same food every day, but we (humans) need a variety of food to survive?
18·2 days agoYou as a human could also live with the same food every day if it covered every dietary need. Especially if you depended on someone else to acquire it and had no choice.
There is an evolutionary push for a rich variety of nutrients obtained from a variety of sources, but the mechanism driving that daily “need” for variety is force of habit and desire for novelty. On top of that, some people are happy to eat nothing but junk and have very narrow tastes. How come?
Also, I can assure you, a lot of cats will periodically stop eating a certain brand or flavor and go through cycles. Does it mean the food isn’t really covering their needs or are they just bored of the same flavor every day? Hard to know, but I would argue your assumption about humans being too different from their pets when it comes to variety in their menu.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If someone ate a full box of high iron cereal before an mri would they get injured?
2·2 days agoI don’t think it would cause any problems. I’ve taken iron supplements of 1000 mg and had MRIs done and nobody ever gave me a warning about anything wrong with it. Surely iron in even lower and more distributed amounts does nothing too.

3·7 days agoAm I too bitter to remark that this sort of thing has been happening to people earning far less- but it only makes news when it hits people with high salaries?
She’s doing great I hope she can walk some day
Where I live I can assure you they drop from the trees. Are you in Australia as well? Every time I removed ticks they were on my neck, shoulders, armpits and breast areas.
My list is very subjective.
Cockroaches (pest) is my N.1 on the list
N.2 Ticks!!! The fuckers rain from the trees and latch onto you!!!
N.3 is shared by parasites, any worms, lice, fleas, you name it;
N4. Leeches. Because fuck leeches. They are slow, yet they will still get you, and unless you have coated yourself in DEET they will bite you, and the bite will bleed for a while, and if you are like me you may get an allergic reaction.
Anything that can be reasonably warded off with regular repellent and/or window screens gets a pardon from me.
Totally with you about how awesome wasps are, and I agree surely mozzies have their cool looking examples and also are food for a bunch of other animals.
But I can totally understand the hate for mosquitoes. They are annoying, and sting, and the stings are itchy. And that’s not limited to A. aegypti…
That could be the explanation, as I said I typically check twice but when I parked last time I wasn’t feeling well. Perhaps I forgot. I can’t remember. What I don’t believe is that proximity to the key prevents the autolock. I’m pretty sure it has locked itself even with me standing right next to it, as well as inside.
Anyway what can I do
Seriously? Where would you have me park instead? Compulsory ownership of lockable garage everywhere I go? Btw this happened in a driveway, they have the light sensors, and the neighborhood isn’t particularly rough. It’s not my home though, I’m just visiting.
That sounds pretty much what happened. I don’t leave anything in my car I would cry over. I have a nomadic life so I can’t really afford to not leave anything behind, most things have a purpose in the car (screwdrivers, my cheap OBDii, the sunscreen cream, rags for cleaning, rain gear in case the rain catches me on the go)The only thing that would have been a nightmare if stolen would be the electronic toll tag, but they didn’t grab that one. But what really got me thinking is that the alarm didn’t go off.
