Yes, 100% the technology and skill is available today to clone a human.
The ethics are dubious and nobody with that technology and skill is going to attempt it. They’re working on lab grown meat and replacement transplant organs.

Yup it’s like a gamble and 80% of the time you lose.
Ummm…deliver better pears to the grocery store and I’ll buy some every week.
I’ve had delicious, refreshing pears. So I know they can be good.
Most of the pears in US grocery stores are dry grainy garbage. Like 80-90% of the time.
The apple people figured it out. No one wants dry-ass mushy Red Delicious garbage apples. Now I can buy Cosmic Crisp or Envy apples and they are always consistently sweet, tart, juicy, and crisp. And guess what? I buy dem shits every week.
Figure it out pear people. Get on it.

Nope. Did not like. Insurrection and Nemesis are nigh unwatchable to me.

Hell yeah.
Lost 30 lbs. by not eating on Mon, Wed, and Fri. Probably the easiest way I’ve ever lost weight.
I find I can either eat, or not eat. I have no in-between. I have no moderation. If I try to eat 3 small sensible meals a day I spend the whole day thinking about food and I wind up “cheating”.
Easier to just not eat that day. If you usually eat 2,500 calories a day you just cut 7,500 calories out of your weekly Calories In without even really trying.

Well I used to think it was this:

But looks like it’s gonna be more like this:

Yup. It works. It just makes you not want to constantly cram food in your mouth.
The only problem is if you stop it. Oh my god the hunger urges come back twice as strong. Unstoppable food rampage urges…

The article is missing the point.
It’s easier to do. Duh.
Of course the real way to lose weight is Calories In, Calories Out. Anyone who thinks there’s some secret sauce special magic in South Beach, Paleo, Vegan, Low-Carb, Keto, Intermittent Fasting, Alternate Day Fasting is just reducing their caloric intake as a by-product of their “diet”.
It’s always been Calories In, Calories Out. It’s just easier to lower your intake by fasting sometimes. Trying to eat small, sensible meals suuuucks.
Even GLP-1s work by turning off hunger so you don’t want to cram food in your face all the time. So you eat less calories…
It’s not rocket surgery.
If it works, then it works.

I wonder if they ever tried, ya know…making their food taste good?
They tried raising prices, they tried shrinkflation, they tried paying their employees as little as legally possible, they tried lowering staffing levels to the least number of employees humanly possible, they even floated the idea of surge pricing in fast food…but the whole time I’ve known Wendy’s to exist, at least in my area, the burgers have been bland and the fries have been soggy and tasteless. And I’m old enough to remember Wendy’s having a bland salad bar to go with the rest of their bland food.
That’s valuable information. Why wouldn’t anyone want to relay that information?

I remember watching the onslaught of .com commercials in the 2000 Superbowl very clearly. Felt exactly the same as these 2026 AI commercials.
The current AI bubble is going to burst into flames spectacularly, and out of the ashes AI will become the actual life-enhancing tool that it was meant to be, just like the .com bubble.
I’m beginning to think that the number of people that just can not feel empathy is way higher than most people thought.
I always assumed that a complete lack of empathy was associated with an actual psychiatric disorder. But that’s the crux of what’s happening on the world today, isn’t it? A huge percentage of the populace are literally just completely incapable of feeling empathy for their fellow humans. And they’re mad that they’ve been told that they have to, ya know, care about other people.

I don’t think assuming that NIMBYs don’t want something in “their backyard” for moral reasons is the right take. NIMBYs by definition are selfish and just don’t want whatever it is near them. It’s “Not In My BackYard”.
The places in these red states are probably more than happy to have some more ICE mega-prisons, just in somebody else’s backyard.

Yes. Banks and gas stations.
Also, self-storage facilities and car washes. And churches.
You know what they’re not building? Mixed use, walkable anything.

The Military Industrial Complex has been normalized over centuries. Humanity just can’t stop killing each other. It’s an instinct that evolved to be helpful to survival at one point thousands of years ago but may actually mean the end of humanity soon.
AI and all of the resources it consumes have not yet been normalized to anywhere near the level of “Defense”.
Give it time and average humans will care just as little about all the resources consumed by AI as they care about all the resources consumed by war. Unfortunately I seriously doubt that it will go the other way around and humans will suddenly start caring more about the resources consumed by the Military Industrial Complex. That ship has sailed…
I’m replying from a Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro.
The phone itself is responsive. The software is clean. The Camera is pretty mediocre. There is no wireless charging.
I would prefer a phone with a better camera and wireless charging but that’s easily 2x to 3x the price. I always just but unlocked phones so this was a good mid-quality option.
The first Rage Against The Machine album feels more relevant today then when it was released. Like this is the first time I’ve really, really felt like RATMs intended audience and not a 3rd person.
Don’t threaten me with a good time.
President Camacho knew that there was a problem and actively recruited the smartest person he could find…completely unrealistic.
