  • I have returned to complain about Champignon Witch

    up to ep 7 spoilers

Luna is a witch who is much older than she looks, although we don’t know how old – she’s basically like an elf or something similar.

At first we think Luna is very isolated. She can’t touch anyone because of her poisonous skin. Therefore physical gestures of romance is out of the question, right? Except that we learn later she actually has a lot of people around her who care for her. She’s able to make friends but still fails at the romantic aspect.

The red flag was the “romance” at the beginning she had with a boy from the town, which resulted quite badly. I think here, the author is stretching the character into too many directions, trying to make her a vehicle for a doomed romance from the perspective of a young isolated socially awkward girl. Except she’s not actually “young,” and she’s not actually isolated. Now this “romance” seems inappropriate.

Then, the narrator says that Luna is the love of his life, and reveals himself to be a 15 year old boy that Luna rescues, who immediately transforms into a much younger boy.

At this point its too much for me. Luna has set herself up to be his mentor and teach him magic, and basically raise him, and also to have some form romantic feelings for him. I thought they would wait until he grew up again, but they’re exchanging blushing glances and at one point he says something about another character being “her lover” and seems jealous or upset. As you can imagine, this is bothering me a lot and I can’t really put this detail aside and indulge in this “romantic fantasy”

    smh. smh.

  • still watching the same stuff. So far I have been enjoying Death Games, no complaints.

Holy Grail Of Eris ehhhh, is kinda losing me, because of course they have to add in some loser guy whose like 27 to be the 16 year old’s fake fiance, smh.

Mushroom Witch proves that you dont need some exploitative violent scene in order to convey deep sadness and loss. 😿

Journal With Witch – I am enjoying this a lot so far, and laughing every time because I said “this anime is so relaxing!” and its heavily about grief lol.

Tamon’s B Side is kinda boring 😅 Im also watching that “im the villainess and the neighboring country’s prince falls in love with me” and it is also very boring. I kinda hate the fawning gimmick the villainess does. 🥱 gonna drop these most likely

Isekai office worker, feels like it’s kind of falling off a bit. I can’t help but feel like the main character is being taken advantage of because he’s so vulnerable. I do appreciate the moment when the main character was like “ew no don’t want to date a 16-year-old what the fuck bro”

Roll over and die is pretty brutal, but it does have some interesting animation and I like her abilities. And the yuri is nice. Rooting for these girls to have a happy ending 😢

    spoiler

Plus we find out that the church is evil and demons are misunderstood. I like that sort of plotline.

Tis Time For Torture Princess season 2 is a 10/10 for me.

I started watching Chihayafuru and I really like it so far!! I feel like the pacing is really good.

I watched Cosmic Princess Kaguya and it was so good. I had dreams about it. The last time I saw a Kaguya adaptation it was very sad. The ending of this one was kind of confusing, but now that I understand it, I do appreciate how it ends.

I have also decided to re-read Make The Exorcist Fall In Love because the new arc deserves my full attention, and I haven’t been following as closely as I would like. I really can’t recommend the series enough if you like this sort of thing. It kind of reminds me if battle shounen was a retelling of moral oral plus chainsaw man vibes. I usually don’t have a lot of good things to say about battle shounen, so the fact that this passes says something.
