I do think she’s getting less lib over time, but only slowly

I would not say “well they were fighting to preserve everything that made the federation/ post contact Earth an optimistic place to live,” I would say “Enterprise, while still overall a good show, was greatly compromised by the post-9/11 War On Terror environment in which it was made and DS9, while overall a great show, was in many places compromised by Rick Berman.” and then I would spit to the side at having said Berman’s name.

I’ve been watching and liking Academy, because it is a return to the optimism that Trek is supposed to be.

I suppose we could put in a little stir randomizer option for those NT freaks

one fan idea is that the replicated food is always exactly the same
As a person with autism, sounds ideal tbh

It’s all about tone. TNG complaining about the replicator food is “oh, isn’t cooking fun and artistic” this is “I’ve never had Real Food I’m just eating shit so grim and dark this is oppression”

I’ve always thought that characters who insist they can taste the difference are just being weird snobs.
I also assume that all Starfleet NCOs know how to override the synthehol setting
One thing the Orville did that Trek was too cowardly to do is mention that killing and eating an animal is seen as legally and morally tantamount to murder. So while Starfleet officers treated Riker’s real eggs as a special treat, Union officers would have responded with shock and horror.

Another example of Discovery not understanding Trek

Tok’ra = bourgeoisie class traitors
Tretonin = the magical drug that makes PMC libs based (this is a bit unfair to the Free Jaffa movement which started before they got tretonin)

That is a hot take but I’m open to hearing it out. I’ve been doing a re-watch lately and finding that it really does hold up if you can suspend your disbelief enough to go with the premise that only some parts of the US government are evil.

There’s also a Stargate SG-1 episode about this, S04E02 “The Other Side.” The team goes through the gate and finds themselves in a bunker far underground with a civilization fighting a war by remote drone. They start out willing to trade with the bunker people, but the bunker people quickly show their ass by being racist to Teal’c. The team investigates further and finds out that the bunker people are space Nazis who started the war they’re losing. The team sabotages the space Nazis’ drones, then leaves back through the gate while making sure space Hitler dies horribly.
Also space Hitler is played by René Auberjonois.

Many KVM switches allow you to use a keyboard shortcut to switch. Still a hardware button, but at least it’s where your hand already is, maybe.

How would a device know the position of the mouse cursor on the screen in order to know when it reaches the edge without running on the host computer?

Microsoft: let’s streamline windows by adding copilot to even more things

Just keep running old versions. Minecraft hasn’t added anything worthwhile in an update for over a decade anyway.

Yes, the International Lunar Research Station. That’s why I’m maybe even more excited for the Chang’e 8 mission scheduled for 2028 than the human landing, because it’s supposed to have some ISRU experiments on board.
They’re gonna need more eight by ten color glossy pictures with circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one explaining what each one is.
