Its a common strategy of pretending to be a leftist but playing up the both sides are bad, so don’t vote. Which is the go to strategy if they know the demographic they are targeting won’t vote right, so next best thing is apathy towards voting and taking them out of the equation.

So you are suggesting things would be the exact same if Trump hadn’t been voted in and that you were completely content and fine with a Trump presidency and Republicans holding all branches of power.

You are as much a Trump support as MAGA taking the side of downplaying how bad he is. No different in fact than smart Trump supporters readjusting their message of downplaying criticisms and trying to convince the left to not vote because both sides are equally bad, so please don’t vote.

Very smart right wing strategy of hiding their allegiance acting like they are a leftist, but doing what they can to discourage voting and trying to convince people both are bad since they know they can’t win them over to the right. So next thing is don’t vote.

  • Complimentary remarks to Republicans depicting them as a party open to being privacy respecting and respect for the rule of law. Took the Joe Rogan hand book of trying to sane wash the Republicans and downplay concerns regarding them while trying to come off as moderate.

And it aged terribly. Someone who went to Harvard and spent significant time in the US wasn’t blind to what those way less educated than him saw when it came to the direction the US was headed towards before Trump officially took office.

He was rightfully criticized because Trump never hid his intentions during the election, so people were not impressed by the pandering like all the current tech bros part of the Trump inner circle.

  • Good billionaires would be buying out politicians to bribe them to pass laws that are beneficial to society and buying out companies to pay their workers more and be less damaging to the environment.

But…they don’t because that’s a fantasy like the idea that a person with super powers would act like Superman as opposed to becoming a tyrant like Homelander.

  • Tankies are facists. More I see of them more I realize they are non US MAGA. Both leaning towards being ultranationalists with love for cult of personality leaders, authoritarian governments, and one party.

Only real difference is healthcare, but the shared love of preferring to trust in what they hope is a benevolent dictator to tell them what to do and get rid of their enemies is a common goal. Neither seems to actually want a government that fears the people that can easily replace leaders they dislike or abuse their power.

I don’t like facism whether it is the US or China. I hate dictatorships. I hate for life presidents. I hate one party governments. I hate having to trust in the idea of a benevolent dictatorship. I want a government that fears the people and leaderships can be easily replaced as opposed to becoming centralized under one person because fuck kings.

You aren’t even doing a good job of getting non Trump supporters to agree with you.

And if you don’t see supporting someone who wants to be a dictator, wants to get rid of minorities, hires white nationalists like Hegseth, threatens Canada’s independence, bombs Venezuelan boats, and has ties to the files as not evil then what exactly is evil to you?

Because a person who endorses that type of person and only complains when they are financially affected, but were happily cheering on the policies before hand sure seem evil to me. This isn’t like some disagreement about which food is better. What they fundamentally were in support of is red flags.

  • How do we even know if they are actually reformed and won’t go and vote for the next Trump who they believe will be more strategic about who they hurt so the right kind of people are left unaffected?

Expressing disapproval of Trump doesn’t mean they disagree with many of the things he is doing, since he has so far been truthful on all the things he said he’d do starting with wanting to be a dictator and Project 2025. Nothing is a surprise.

Only surprise is they thought only illegals and minorities would be affected, and that’s still something they want.
