I don’t think that changes the fact that the correct amount to charge for general access to online games is $0. It doesn’t really matter how much you bundle with it, it’s still a scam to charge for it.

Nah, people should be allowed to preserve whatever. I’m just kinda surprised anyone even wants to bother with this one lol

2·6 months agoToo often I have bought a game that was reviewed as overwhelmingly positive and it turned out to be some boring ass niche game.
Ironically, this is how I feel about Hollow Knight lol

3·6 months agoSame, this game runs like fucking ass and doesn’t look meaningfully better than Eternal.
I had a feeling forced Raytracing was going to suck ass but had some (misplaced) faith that maybe id could make it work, but no, I was severely disappointed and refunded this shite.

1·8 months agoYes, they are. If you want 60 FPS and a higher resolution in the two open-world Zelda games, you either need to pay more or have NSO + Expansion Pack. There is no justifiable reason for these to be bundled in with the “Zelda Notes” shit (that’s a smartphone app and not even part of the game).

5·8 months agoAre we really calling tweaking a config file a “remaster” now? This is the bare minimum for a new console, IMO, and it is absurdly disgusting they thought some of these “upgrade packs” should cost money.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•One gamer got so tired of waiting for Valve, he made his own 'Steam Controller 2' out of Steam Deck parts, and it even splits in half like Switch Joy-ConsEnglish
1·8 months agoI am actually also one of the weird(?) ones that likes the button d-pad. My main issue with them is I just don’t like where the sticks are positioned, I find it really uncomfortable attached or split tbh (also the whole drifting thing, but that’s not a comfort issue lol).
I will say I LOVED the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, it was fantastic for games built around it. I still occasionally use one (and a USB sensor bar) when emulating Wii games on my computer. They nailed the ergonomics of those.

2·8 months agoI hadn’t considered it until seeing this thread and don’t really expect it but it actually would be sick as hell if the Steam Controller 2 could be split in half, I might not use it all the time but man the option would be cool.
It’s a shame that Joy-Cons are the only standard controllers that do this because they suck so hard for other reasons lol

I like having a Windows 11 VM for stuff I need Windows for (Visual Studio, pretty much, for one project), though I realise having enough system resources to do this is a bit of a privilege (especcially now…)
