World News@lemmy.world•Johnson & Johnson must pay $18.8m to cancer patient in baby powder lawsuit
743·3 years agoThis isn’t even punitive, but just the cost of doing business. Protip, if the fine wouldn’t stop you from making the same business decision again, it’s not really a fine.

2574·3 years agoCan’t scroll past an air bnb post without stopping in to say fuck air bnb for its role in the housing crisis. It should be banned unless it’s owner occupied.
I’d be pissed too. Watermelons are all show no go. Truly an f tier fruit.

World News@lemmy.world•Hollywood Shuts Down After 160,000 Actors Walk Off the Set
201·3 years agoThis. I want more strikes. I’m tired of everything going to shit and the masses sit back and do nothing. I’ve gone to a few protests recently, and honestly it’s cheap therapy for me. Feels nice to actually DO something.

Memes@lemmy.ml•I really thought I would have more free time now that I'm off reddit
92·3 years agoGuys, I’m starting to think the problem is me…
I watched click recently and it definitely did NOT hold up for me. It’s just so over the top dramatic that it waded into cringe for me. Sucks because when I was a teen I thought it was absolutely amazing.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Lemmy, AITA for disliking copied content from Reddit in the AmITheAsshole community?
11·3 years agoWho cares? If you’re seeing it again it’s because enough people missed it the first time to still upvote it. Sounds like gatekeeping to me?

1·3 years agoThe lack of discussion isn’t because it’s a bot post though, nine times outta ten. I’m all for more content as long as it isn’t obvious spam. The more content for me to interact with the better
Well I don’t go to Reddit so it works for me. Down vote if you don’t like it.
I’m just here to say fuck air bnb. Ban that shit for it’s contribution to the housing crisis.
jimmyjoners@lemmy.worldtoToday I learned@lemmy.ml•TIL: If a fly gets so deep in your ear you can’t even see it, pour some baby oil in. It encapsulates the fly and eventually it will slip out.
2·3 years agoI mean a fly could barely be in my ear and I couldn’t see it? Now if someone else can barely see it… Sure let’s lube that ear canal up.

Solarpunk@slrpnk.net•Climate activists block golf course holes in Spain with seedlings and cement to protest water use
13·3 years agoFor sure. But isn’t that what votes are for? As long as it’s not from obviously problematic sources I’m still not seeing a big issue here either.

Solarpunk@slrpnk.net•Climate activists block golf course holes in Spain with seedlings and cement to protest water use
15·3 years agoIt’s a link aggregation site though. Like the memes and stuff might be OC, but news articles and the like make total sense to be posted by bots IMO. The comments and engagement is what I’m here for. The more posts that trigger and allow for that engagement the better

Solarpunk@slrpnk.net•Climate activists block golf course holes in Spain with seedlings and cement to protest water use
36·3 years agoI’ll never understand the antibot sentiment. Reddit was filled with bots reposting stuff all the time too. Who cares? Let the votes decide if it’s good or not

World News@beehaw.org•The Fed pauses its rate-hiking campaign, announcing no new increase
2·3 years agoThey signaled for two more quarter point increases this year apparently - so not really sure what to think.

What, you’re just going to judge them based on their decades of previous behaviour?!
