Ukraine@sopuli.xyz•Ukraine’s Drone Warfare Shows Two Battalions Could Be Wiped Out in a Day in NATO DrillsEnglish
11·5 days agoAbsolutely not surprised. That’s why any talks about European security architecture that doesn’t involve Ukraine as a key ally are laughable and based on delusion that if Ukraine is capable to stop russia, then everyone else in NATO would be even more effective.
Like sure, you still have aviation that is better than what your potential opponent has. But if that’s your only ace, it might prove ineffective. Rockets cost a lot, what it you send all of them and don’t achieve your goal? Russia sure sent fucktons towards Ukraine, and it still stands.

Ukraine@sopuli.xyz•After the IOC disqualified Ukrainian Olympian Vladyslav Heraskevych, energy workers created their own memorial helmets bearing the names of colleagues who were killed by Russia.English
18·5 days agoThe decision of the International Olympic Committee to disqualify Vlad Geraskevych can be studied at universities. In philosophy departments, as an example of refined, boundless cynicism and hypocrisy.
Let’s sort out this bouquet. Vlad is disqualified because his helmet shows dead Ukrainian athletes. There is no inscription there that they were killed by Russia. The IOC sees “politics” not even in what is shown, but in what is not mentioned directly - but they know, first of all, themselves. They know that those athletes were killed by their Russian friends and patrons, they are embarrassed - so Vlad must go.
We are in a situation where the victim of a crime is told - if you scream, we will be forced to take you outside the boundaries of our decent society. Even if you don’t call for help, even if you don’t swear, even if you don’t call the perpetrator by name - the very fact of screaming, or tears, or grief will be regarded by us as not comme il faut, as an attempt to spoil the holiday - because we know who is really torturing you. And you will go away.
And this is not some trick of a psychopath, this is the official position of a large international organization, expressed from the highest tribunes in the world.
By the lowest people in the world.

You aren’t supposed to run it on machine you work on anyway, do a server and send requests.

2·6 days agoIt goes down to number of vram / unified ram you have. There is no magic to make 8b perform like top tier subscription based LLMs (likely in 500b+ range, wouldn’t be surprised if trillions).
If you can get to 32b / 80b models, that’s where magic starts to happen.
Stupid message. You get invaded if you are weak. Having rockets actually prevents whats on the pic, unless it’s your country invading.

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Weekly Recommendations Thread: What are you playing this week?English
2·21 days agoPath of Achra. Only recently found it and I love it. Roguelike, turn based, classic. About 2h for a full successful run. But every run it gets harder, up to 32nd difficulty.
Lots and lots of build combinations as it has races, classes & religions, pick one each and the bonuses are substantial. And 3 out of 9 skill schools. Item bonuses often scale crazy good with very specific style of play etc.
It’s the kind of game that gets broken easily and it actively encourages you to do it, cause endgame bosses are no joke too.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•For those who's country's national language is **NOT** English, how fluent is your English compared to your country's language?English
2·23 days agoI’m in the English-speaking country now and it was one of the reasons to emigrate there specifically, cause I’ve learned the language over the years at home, first by playing games & reading lyrics & browsing internets, then by watching movies with subs, then by forcing myself to switch subs off and catch the spelling. Also work calls.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t activitypub essentially have this thing that stuff you see in “All” is the stuff that is cached by your server, on the basis “someone from your server subbed to something on their server”? I mean this shouldn’t be a problem for any moderately sized threadiverse server, as you’ll see all the popular servers anyway, but idk if that’s the case for smaller ones.

Its not consciousness or whatever, they are just getting broke
