Should be obvious, but at least someone is saying it.

Eh, I would say quite a lot of Albertans have done quite a bit. The protests, attempted recalls, and other attempts to get these maniacs out of our legislature are happening but… we’re a little outnumbered and outfunded.
It would be a big help if we could ban foreign media conglomerates like Post Media from being the primary way 95% of our people got their “news” (ie propaganda propping up the traitors).

I deeply hope it won’t happen, but if it’s him or the Nazis, then…

I keep hearing people float his name. I hope to god you’re right.

This is the Democrats heir apparent? We’re all doomed aren’t we.

Yep. And there will be more jobs running the power plants than the data centre. For a project that’s revenue projections are effectively tech moguls going “Trust me bro!”

That’s actually the point. They’re trained with a Pavlovian reaction to specific words. Their pundits and influencers have trained them with this twisted, inverted “Evil Sesame Street” programming to react with unhinged rage to specific words and phrases. In many cases they largely want the same things, but actually describing those things is impossible because of this conditioning.

Canadian, here. I think they’re great. Most seem like really nice people. Except the ones that astroturf for the CCP. Those can go back to China if they prefer it so much. Spare me the incessant propaganda. I’ve spent my whole life putting up with American lies, I don’t feel the need to replace them with Chinese ones.
But most of the ones I know are honest, good people, interesting perspectives, competent, if not particularly exceptional.

Well they do claim to be a free, democratic nation. “Claim” is doing an awful lot of work in that sentence, but it is accurate.

You don’t say. Who could have possibly seen this coming. 😐

On the one hand, if you’re walking into a totalitarian state and criticizing the ruling autocrat, then sure, that’s a skill issue. That’s not supposed to be how it works in countries that at least purport to be free. At the very least, we can at least be frustrated at the false advertising.

Abandoning the remaining low-income and disabled Dems that are less likely to have documentation like that would be a strategically bad move. Not to mention, you currently have Fed that will happily to “Lose” your paperwork when you renew if they can correlate your face with their “Age Verification” data that identifies you as a Democrat.
Give them an inch and they’ll take all of it.
Edit: Typo

I think we’re all clear on the assignment. We’ve all taken a hit for the sake of “Buy Canadian” and other movements, to help with re-alignment, and we all know we’re going to have to support each other as shocks continue to hit. An important factor, however, is the pain needs to be distributed in a reasonable way. The TSE index funds are seeing solid and gaining dividends. We need to see some more movement from the top income brackets in putting those dividends back in to domestic industry to help compensate for inevitable job losses.

A little bit of a tempest in a teapot. It doesn’t sound like they’re actually going to stop distributing existing drivers, they’re just not accepting any new drivers or updates (unless they’re critical security updates) for those packages.

Unfortunately, we’re not all the ones that decide if we’re on board or not. Our employers are. We live in a world where profits are privatized and losses are socialized, so when this goes, it’s going to hurt the general public a lot more than it will every hurt the Epstein Class.

The problem is the cost of that correction is going to fall on us. Or did we forget that the flavor of capitalism we live under is the “Privatize the profits, socialize the losses” kind. We’re not the ones in the casino, but we’re the ones who will lose our shirts when they lose.

That’s what they said about Coding for the last 20 years.
If you want a job, learn how to make friends, preferably in high places. You take a good look at who you have access to, and study whatever it is they tell you they need you to know to work for them, and if that’s underwater basket weaving, plumbing, or communications, you learn it, because who you know is how you get a job. What you know is how you keep it. Your competence means nothing. Your connections mean everything.

There’s no such thing as a viable degree. It’s a myth. You’re asking teenagers to look into a magic crystal ball and figure out what skill set is going to have any value at all in 5 years. Meanwhile the richest men and all the experts on Earth can’t tell you what’s going to be valuable in 5 months. If they want to go to a vocational school, send them to a vocational school. The market will be flooded by the time they graduate so they aren’t going to make good money. Don’t expect to actually get an apprenticeship either, you don’t even want to know how few of those there are to go around.
You may as well tell those kids to take $1000 to Vegas and hope they win enough for a down payment on a house.

Trusting any country without being well aware they’re going to be aggressively trying to manipulate us in their favour these days is foolish. At this point they’re less dangerous than the US propaganda machine. It probably won’t stay that way, but it is what it is. We live in a lion’s den.
Honestly, at this point I don’t blame you. If this is the dogsh*t the Dems consider a reasonable compromise then the Union has fallen.
