So have a gay, bi or trans love story in a book, movie, TV show or video game the same as you would a straight one. Don’t announce it to the world as a genre because it’s not. Normalize it don’t separate it. Have people experience it the same as any other love store.
Torrenting isn’t the only way to pirate stuff and you can absolutely pirate on Proton’s free version.
I don’t mind these themes in my media but I don’t understand why it’s a genre? Straight isn’t a genre and none of this should be treated any different.
Of course there could be more but I don’t see the point of making that assumption or living that way. I’ll just limit my data input in case. While Amazon should be more transparent people still wouldn’t believe them and “if” they are truly only collecting the input I give them then I don’t consider that spying. With that said it’s good to know and each individual can choose if they’re ok with it or not.

People use something out of value and/or convenience. It taking over is just the effect of that. It’s capitalism not some underlying motive from the corporation. Of course a business wants their product to succeed.

Thank you and god forbid someone has a different opinion. There are a lot of assumptions on the internet about what smart speakers are and aren’t but this article didn’t reveal anything shocking IMO. The writer didn’t even seem bothered by all of it. It just came off as a simple observation piece to me.

It gave him back every piece of data he had put into Amazon which was tied to a log in. Where is the spying? He willing did this and the whole piece felt like an observation more than a worry. Just my perception that though.

Plenty of other things in my life that require that attention over a video game service.

Was there any indication that it was listening outside of being prompted? That’s just an assumption and would be no different than the phone we all have in our pockets most of the day.
I find massive value in the service so I subscribe to it. When I don’t I won’t. It’s not the deep “bro”. Maybe Microsoft does have some underlying motive to reshape the gaming industry but I’m not going to think about it that hard. Also things change and it’s ok. Apple started the digital music movement BTW and I’m not an artist so that is theirs and the labels deal to negotiate. Spotify is great value too FYI.
