Not The Onion@lemmy.world•Small business owners say Amazon is selling their products without permissionEnglish
57·4 days agoHow is Amazon preventing customers from signing up? How even could they?
What he is saying is that he doesn’t get the customers email from the sale, to which he’d start to send marketing emails. You know, what pretty much every company does when you buy something.
“Not being exposed to me, the ‘artist’” is a perfectly valid reason, and one I would agree with. But the mailing list excuse rings hollow to me.

834·4 days agoI fully support this artist/business owners desire not to be sold on Amazon without permission. However, citing the reason of not getting to market to his customers is pretty weak imo, paints him as just another capitalist, and I lose whatever sympathy I had.

But 720 feels like garbage to me.

Well, it’s clear he’s still republican because even in his statement he makes it about him.
“I did not sign up for this.”
I think it’s good he saying something, but dropping out of the race doesn’t do anyone any good. Run as a Republican in vocal opposition or as an independent, then there will be action behind his words.

19·18 days agoModern might-wing pop country is just rap for people afraid of black people. And much like their ‘patriotism,’ is superficial and in name only.

Music@lemmy.world•Zach Bryan’s anti-ICE song drew ire from Trump officials. Is country music waking up?English
24·18 days agoI liked The Dixie Chicks then, and like them now. Her statement has aged well, and the response to it hasn’t. But their music wasn’t particularly woke or progressive in the way Guthrie’s was or Hellas’ is.
There is something satisfying about critique coming from what conservatives would consider ‘their music.’

This particular sleaze is definitely male perpetuated and worth calling out. But shittiness knows no gender (or age or ethnicity for that matter.)
