Bad Rats!

Very exiting. I’m looking forward to the day I can finally ditch Plex

How can you fumble a quasi-monopoly on desktop operating systems this hard

My lemmy app just embedded the picture in the comment

I would not mind a higher price. As it stands the Meta Quest has no serious competition regardless of your budget. Paying a premium to have the peace of mind that Zuckerberg isn’t spying on what I do in private while using the headset would be a fine tradeoff. And potentially having access to the SteamVR library without needing to connect to a gaming pc would be the icing on the cake.

Paying a living wage would be a good start

You mean my $0.99 flashlight from Aliexpress doesn’t really have 100000 lumens? 😱

Maybe you should read more than 1 paragraph before commenting. And in general.

The vast majority of the world’s populations lives in the northern hemisphere. Trump just threatened 87% of the worlds population

Exactly. With PC VR headsets there is viable competition, but we desperately need real competition for Meta Quest headsets.

And it’s often on purpose because the driver is smoothing out the mains input and/or supports dimmers. A tiny delay is worth it to have an LED that doesn’t flicker
You really don’t want a bargain bin LED where the driver is just a half bridge rectifier and a resistor in series with the LED
I’m pretty sure the analog ones are the exception, not the rule.
That is correct, and at least part of the reason for that is that most notebooks, and even many smartphones, don’t support them. DACs are so incredibly cheap nowadays that it costs the manufacturer less to put one in the adapter, than to deal with the cost of half their customers returning the adapter because it doesn’t work with their device.

but it seems nowadays, even Chromebooks have 16 GB of RAM and an i5.
That is extremely far from the truth. Yes, there are a handful of Chromebook with such specifications, but the vast majority has an underpowered ARM chip and 4gb of ram
And by far the most obvious: many of the Pixels are not square, or misaligned with the grid pattern, and they also have wildly different sizes on some of the consoles

I don’t see how this particular thing is an issue. You don’t need to activate Windows during the setup. You can skip activation, update the driver, and then activate windows afterwards

Where are these perfectly willing hucows if I may ask?

He asks for the full image and you reply with a version that is even more cropped 🤔
We already have PS4 emulation thanks to Bloodborne enthusiasts.
