Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Can I prevent someone breaking into my car?
13·3 days agoDon’t park in sketchy areas. This means bad lighting at night, but even during the day if a place is known for smash and grabs, just don’t park there.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why does most American's give shit to the French when if not for them we would have lost the revolution?
62·3 days agoI’d venture to say most Americans wouldn’t know any of this, or think about this, when giving France shit.

News@lemmy.world•Federal statement on Jeffrey Epstein's death dated day before he was found dead
1·4 days agoOh now I see what you’re saying. I agree, there isn’t a good reason for it. The only thing I can think of is that the admin is incompetent.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What movie feels impossible to watch without captions?
3·5 days agoI don’t know, I just watched Casablanca the other day and boy did I need subtitles…
SLVRDRGN@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Its not that donald trump is for sure a pedophile. Its that there are 350 million people in the USA and there is no need to make someone where its even a question president.
32·6 days agoYou can say the same about any religion. Christianity spans much more than “American Christianity”. Lemmy is a place for people of the whole world is it not? You can’t refer to Christianity as a whole when talking about a very specific brand of it.
I would have thought Lemmy would not discriminate based on nationality, race, creed or religion, but I see such hate towards religion in general (here) that, honestly, you are not being respectful to others’ beliefs. Is this what we want Lemmy to be?
First, I don’t know. Second, I see a well postured cartoon poodle in a sit position, side profile. Mirrored in the other potato too.
Wait what are you mad at here, I’m confused.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•In the future, it will be considered unbelievable that repairing a product used to be more expensive than buying a new one
4·6 days agoThis is how we got to become a society of “disposable” culture.
You get security questions asking you who your “favorite person” is?

510·6 days agoPlease, don’t generalize. Christians are giant group of people with many kinds. Gross generalization like this isn’t solving the problem. I know many, many Christians who are very much against the character of Trump.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Are you doing something to fuck over "the powerful"? If so, what?
15·6 days agoI haven’t bought anything from Amazon, Costco, Wal-Mart, big box stores for at least 5 years now. I will also never be getting anything from places like Temu.
As well, I try to make almost all my food, shopping, etc choices to benefit something small, or someone local, that needs my money more than things that further drive the Machine in the end.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some product categories where the mainstream option IS the best option?
1·7 days agoOld Cadbury’s was hands down the best.
Because of that word, I heard the whole thing in this guy’s voice

Overall 40 percent of Americans didn’t even read a single book last year. Doesn’t bode well for critical thinking if we can’t even read.

You Should Know@lemmy.world•YSK that radishes are fucking amazing. They contain vitamin C, improve blood pressure, and are full of Sulforaphene, a powerful anti-cancer substance. Radishes contain almost no calories
3·7 days agoI love that the pronunciation of daikon makes this sentence sound British in my head
